## What it does

This skill covers the brand side of creator work: picking authors, writing the brief, sorting out usage rights, and running a customer-UGC pipeline. It follows the BRIEF framework — vetting on engagement and audience quality, briefing with guardrails instead of a script, inking rights and whitelisting before publication, enforcing disclosure on every post, and feeding the UGC pipeline with per-creator measurement.

It reads `brand-profile` and `goals-and-kpis` first, because niche, audience and campaign goal decide who fits and what format to use. Vetting looks at engagement rate and audience authenticity rather than follower count; fake followers are common enough that checking before you pay is the sensible move. Rights do not arrive with the invoice — paying for a post buys the post, not reuse or whitelisting, so scope, channels, duration and exclusivity get agreed in writing beforehand. A tag is not a license either.

Disclosure is a hard rule: paid and gifted posts both carry a clear, upfront label, and a request to bury it gets declined. The agent advises, drafts and plans; publishing the brand's own posts runs through WoopSocial, while outreach, contracts, payment and ad managers stay human. The rights term sheet is a checklist, not legal advice — a lawyer signs it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill ugc-and-influencer -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ugc-and-influencer/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ugc-and-influencer/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill ugc-and-influencer -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ugc-and-influencer/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill ugc-and-influencer -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ugc-and-influencer/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install social-media-skills/skills ugc-and-influencer
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ugc-and-influencer/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill ugc-and-influencer -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills --path skills/ugc-and-influencer
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ugc-and-influencer/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill ugc-and-influencer -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/ugc-and-influencer/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- vet creators on engagement instead of follower count
- write a one-page brief with guardrails, not a word-for-word script
- lock usage rights and whitelisting before content is made
- label every paid and gifted post as sponsored
- collect customer UGC with consent and credit

## Example prompts
- Build a creator shortlist for our niche and flag anyone with fake-follower signals
- Draft a one-page creator brief: goal, key message, disclosure, claims to avoid
- Put together a rights checklist: channels, duration, edits, exclusivity, whitelisting

  UGC and influencer marketing — paid or gifted creator partnerships, briefs, usage rights, and
  disclosure done right. Use when someone wants to run an influencer campaign, sponsored post, paid
  or gifted creator partnership, write a creator brief, license/whitelist creator content, source
  customer UGC, or build a UGC pipeline. Vets creators on engagement + audience quality (not
  follower count); briefs with guardrails not scripts; inks usage rights up front; enforces FTC/ASA
  disclosure on EVERY paid AND gifted post; runs the customer-UGC pipeline. Uses the BRIEF
  framework. Reads brand-profile + goals-and-kpis first. WoopSocial
  publishes the BRAND'S OWN posts (rights-cleared UGC reshares, campaign posts) — NOT creator
  DMs/payment/whitelisting/contracts. Undisclosed sponsorship = decline and correct; a tag is not
  usage permission. Distinct from
  collabs-and-cross-promotion (mutual, unpaid), creator-monetization (the creator's side), and
  social-proof-and-testimonials (UGC as proof content).

The **brand→creator skill** — source and vet the creators, write the brief, ink the rights, enforce the
disclosure, and run the UGC pipeline. The agent **advises + drafts + plans**; **WoopSocial publishes the
brand's own posts** (rights-cleared UGC reshares, campaign posts); **outreach, contracts, payment, ads and
the creator's post are native/human.**

## The POV: you're buying trust — don't sand it off, and never hide that you bought it
An influencer post works because the audience trusts the *creator*, not you. Two failure modes kill that:
**over-scripting** (a brief that dictates every word produces an ad with worse production values — brief the
guardrails, let the creator speak in their own voice) and **hiding the deal** (undisclosed sponsorship is
illegal — FTC in the US, ASA/CMA in the UK — and **gifted product counts**: free stuff is a material
connection). The other counter-intuitions that separate top-1% programs: **engagement + audience quality
beat follower count** (micro-creators routinely out-convert macros per dollar; fake followers are rampant —
