## What it does

The skill lays out Twilio workflows: sending and receiving SMS, notification templates, two-factor authentication through the Verify API, outbound calls and an IVR menu. Inside are YAML configs and JavaScript examples, from building a message and looking up a number to sending it and handling the delivery status. Templates cover order confirmation, shipping updates, appointment reminders and verification codes.

A separate block handles two-way messaging: a welcome after opt-in, replies to `HELP`, `STATUS` and `TRACK`, opt-out on `STOP` and resubscribe on `START`. Bulk campaigns get audience filters, scheduling, batch size and a delivery report. The voice side includes TwiML scripts with call recording and keypad routing.

The skill talks to the `communication-mcp` MCP server with the `twilio_send_sms`, `twilio_voice_call`, `twilio_lookup` and `twilio_verify` tools. So you need that server running and Twilio credentials: a sender number or messaging service SID, plus a service SID for Verify. None of the flows start without them, so check access before wiring this into a production path.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill twilio-sms-automation -a claude-code
```
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill twilio-sms -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/twilio-sms/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/twilio-sms/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill twilio-sms -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/twilio-sms/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill twilio-sms -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/twilio-sms/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install claude-office-skills/skills twilio-sms
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/twilio-sms/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill twilio-sms -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills --path twilio-sms
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/twilio-sms/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill twilio-sms -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills/tree/HEAD/twilio-sms/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- send an SMS confirming an order
- parse a customer reply by keyword
- issue a verification code and check it
- call a list of recipients and record the calls
- pull a delivery report for a bulk campaign

## Example prompts
- set up Twilio SMS sending for order notifications
- add two-factor authentication with Twilio Verify
- build an IVR menu with keypad routing
