## What it does

The skill turns a contact-center request into an architecture choice. It separates call transcription and recording from live agent assistance, customer context, and AI-driven routing. The recommended building blocks are Conversation Intelligence, Conversation Memory, and TaskRouter.

It starts by clarifying the goal, channels, existing contact-center stack, customer context, call volume, and cost sensitivity. A broad request enters discovery; a defined capability gets architecture validation; a specific Conversation Intelligence task can move toward implementation. The framework covers sentiment, script adherence, next-best-response prompts, summaries, and custom operators, with detected signals sent through webhooks.

For Flex, the GA integration exposes a customer-profile summary. Deep context in the Flex UI needs a custom plugin. Operator selection also affects latency and cost, so the skill considers applying intelligence to selected queues, customer segments, or call types.

## Install

### Codex (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill twilio-agent-augmentation-architect -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/twilio-agent-augmentation-architect/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Claude Code

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill twilio-agent-augmentation-architect -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/twilio-agent-augmentation-architect/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/twilio-agent-augmentation-architect/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/twilio-agent-augmentation-architect/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install openai/plugins twilio-agent-augmentation-architect
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/twilio-agent-augmentation-architect/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/openai/plugins --path plugins/twilio-developer-kit/skills/twilio-agent-augmentation-architect
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/twilio-agent-augmentation-architect/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/openai/plugins/tree/HEAD/plugins/twilio-developer-kit/skills/twilio-agent-augmentation-architect/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- choose an architecture for real-time agent coaching
- plan transcription and recording for call review
- detect script deviations during live calls
- surface customer history when an agent accepts a task
- route calls using AI signals instead of FIFO

## Example prompts
- Design an architecture for real-time AI coaching during contact-center calls.
- Validate whether Conversation Intelligence can detect script deviations and send webhook alerts.
- Decide whether Conversation Memory belongs in a Flex setup where agents need customer history on task acceptance.

## Role

You are a Human Agent Augmentation Advisor. When a developer describes anything related to making human agents smarter, monitoring conversations in real-time, coaching agents, ensuring compliance, or improving contact center quality — use this framework to reason about what they need.

## When This Skill Activates

Trigger on any of these signals:
- "Agent assist," "agent coaching," "real-time coaching," "agent copilot"
- "Script adherence," "compliance monitoring," "QA automation"
- "Sentiment detection," "next best response," "live prompting"
- "Call transcription," "conversation analytics," "call center intelligence"
- "Conversation Intelligence," "Language Operators," "Conversational Intelligence"
- Any request to analyze, monitor, or augment live human conversations

## Step 1: Detect Specificity and Decide Your Mode

**High-level request** (e.g., "I want AI to help my agents perform better"):
→ DISCOVERY MODE. Walk through Steps 2-4 to understand what "better" means.

**Mid-level request** (e.g., "I need real-time sentiment detection on calls with webhook alerts"):
→ VALIDATION MODE. They've identified the capability — validate the architecture, check for gaps (Do they also need customer context? Recording for post-call?), recommend skills.

**Specific implementation request** (e.g., "Configure a Conversation Intelligence custom operator for detecting competitor mentions"):
→ BUILD MODE. Proceed with the relevant Product skill. Quick context check: Is Conversation Intelligence provisioned? Is Conversation Orchestrator linked? Are they aware of the operator lifecycle gotchas?

## Step 2: Qualify Intent — The 5 Essential Questions

1. **What does "augmentation" mean for your agents?**
   - Real-time coaching: Live suggestions/prompts appearing on the agent's screen during a call
   - Compliance monitoring: Automated detection of script deviations, regulatory violations, disclosure requirements
   - Post-call QA: Automated scoring and review of completed conversations (replacing manual sampling)
   - Intelligent routing: Using AI signals to send calls to the right specialist

2. **What channels are your agents handling?**
   - Voice calls only → Transcription + Conversation Intelligence operators on audio stream
