## What it does

The skill sorts the request by intent first — decode, filter, reshape, combine events, add custom logic, or do a lookup join — then points to the matching section with SQL and YAML templates.

Reference files cover the specialised cases: `references/evm-patterns.md` for advanced EVM patterns, `references/typescript-transforms.md` for script and handler transforms, `references/dynamic-tables.md` for allowlists and lookup joins, `references/solana-patterns.md` for Solana instruction and log decoding. Core functions include `evm_log_decode()` with its aliases `_gs_log_decode` and `evm_decode_log`, plus `fetch_abi()`, `_gs_keccak256()`, `dynamic_table_check()` and `to_u256()`. One warning is worth reading before you write a query: Turbo SQL runs in streaming mode on Apache DataFusion, so joins, aggregations, window functions and subqueries are out. Use `dynamic_table` transforms for joins and the `postgres_aggregate` sink for aggregations.

When the skill produces a full pipeline YAML rather than a snippet, it tells you to run `goldsky turbo validate` before handing the config over. Pipeline YAML structure lives in a separate skill, `/turbo-pipelines`; end-to-end pipeline building is `/turbo-builder`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill turbo-transforms -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/turbo-transforms/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/turbo-transforms/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill turbo-transforms -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/turbo-transforms/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill turbo-transforms -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/turbo-transforms/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install goldsky-io/goldsky-agent turbo-transforms
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/turbo-transforms/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill turbo-transforms -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --path skills/turbo-transforms
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/turbo-transforms/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill turbo-transforms -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- decode Transfer events from raw EVM logs
- filter transfers by contract address
- merge several event types into one stream with UNION ALL
- write a TypeScript transform that invokes a function
- pull values from a dynamic lookup table

## Example prompts
- Decode Transfer events from my raw logs source and keep only USDC transfers
- Write a SQL transform that filters by contract address and scales the amount to 18 decimals
- Build a TypeScript transform for my Turbo pipeline and check it with goldsky turbo validate

# Turbo Transforms

Write, understand, and debug SQL, TypeScript, and dynamic table transforms for Turbo pipeline configurations.

Identify what the user needs (decode, filter, reshape, combine, custom logic, or lookup joins), then use the relevant section below. If generating a complete pipeline YAML (not just a transform snippet), always validate with `goldsky turbo validate` before presenting it to the user.

**Reference files for specialized topics:**

- `references/typescript-transforms.md` — TypeScript/WASM script transforms and handler transforms
- `references/dynamic-tables.md` — Dynamic table transforms (allowlists, lookup joins)
- `references/solana-patterns.md` — Solana instruction/log decoding and function examples

## Transform Basics

### YAML Structure

```yaml
transforms:
  my_transform:
    type: sql
    primary_key: id
    sql: |
      SELECT id, block_number, address
      FROM my_source
      WHERE address = '0xabc...'
```

### Required Fields

| Field         | Required | Description                                                  |
| ------------- | -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `type`        | Yes      | `sql`, `script`, `handler`, `dynamic_table`, or `throttle`   |
| `primary_key` | Yes\*    | Column used for uniqueness and ordering (\*not for `throttle`) |
| `sql`         | Yes      | SQL query (for `sql` type transforms)                        |

### Referencing Data

- Reference **sources** by their YAML key name: `FROM my_source`
- Reference **other transforms** by their YAML key name: `FROM my_transform`
- No need for a `from` field in SQL transforms — the `FROM` clause in SQL handles it
