## What it does

This skill covers day three of a Design Sprint, the most decision-heavy one. Tuesday's sketches go up anonymously and get labels A/B/C/D in randomized order. Then the heat map: silent dot voting on the strongest parts of any sketch. Speed critique follows, 3 minutes per sketch, and the sketcher stays quiet while their own work is discussed.

The straw poll gives everyone one large dot. The Decider's supervote is the actual call, not an average of the room. Then comes the choice between storyboarding one sketch or two competing prototypes. The day closes with a 5-15 panel storyboard that Thursday's build runs on.

The skill's timebox is 210 minutes of facilitator-led work. You need Tuesday's sketches already collected and stripped of attribution, plus the map and target for framing the storyboard. If the Decider cannot attend, the day produces a recommendation rather than a decision, because the supervote cannot be delegated. One more thing: if sketcher names leaked into the morning session, the facilitator has to re-strip them before the heat map starts, or the voting is contaminated.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install product-on-purpose/pm-skills tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/product-on-purpose/pm-skills --path skills/tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/product-on-purpose/pm-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- lay out Tuesday's sketches anonymously and label them
- build a heat map over the strongest parts of each sketch
- run speed critique without the sketcher explaining their own work
- record the Decider's supervote as the final call
- produce a 5-15 panel storyboard for the prototype build

## Example prompts
- Run the tool-design-sprint-decide-and-storyboard skill: sketches are collected, attribution is stripped, let's start Wednesday
- Run the heat map and speed critique on every sketch, then the straw poll
- Build a 5-15 panel storyboard from the sketch with the Decider's supervote

# Design Sprint Decide and Storyboard (Wednesday)

Wednesday is the most decision-heavy day of the Design Sprint. The skill runs the art museum layout (sketches posted anonymously on the wall), heat map (silent dot-vote stickers on promising parts), speed critique (3 minutes per sketch summarizing what the team sees), straw poll (each team member's top choice), and the Decider's supervote (the call that triggers the storyboard). Then the team decides whether to rumble (storyboard two sketches as competing prototypes) or all-in-one (storyboard one). The day ends with a 5-15 step storyboard that drives Thursday's build.
