# tlc-spec-driven

Organizes feature planning and delivery into four adaptive phases: Specify, Design, Tasks, and Execute. It auto-sizes depth by complexity and enforces gates via deterministic Python scripts.

## What it does

The skill guides feature delivery through four adaptive stages: Specify, Design, Tasks, and Execute. It auto-sizes its depth to project complexity, skipping design or task breakdown on small changes. Before presenting the spec, the agent pauses to ask the user about any ambiguous behavior. Requirements follow the EARS notation, and user approvals must be recorded verbatim into `.specs/`.

Verification relies on deterministic Python scripts rather than model self-assessment. Every acceptance criterion maps to a concrete test command. Each atomic task requires passing its gate before triggering an individual Git commit. Once the final task is complete, an independent Verifier sub-agent performs mutation checks and audits rendered UI against original captures.

Running the gates requires Python 3 and terminal execution tools in the agent environment. The execution contract limits approvals to local edits and local commits; commands like `git push` or remote database migrations require explicit approval. This skill is explicitly not intended for pure architecture decomposition or standalone technical design documents.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tech-leads-club/agent-skills --skill tlc-spec-driven -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/tlc-spec-driven/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/tlc-spec-driven/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tech-leads-club/agent-skills --skill tlc-spec-driven -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/tlc-spec-driven/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tech-leads-club/agent-skills --skill tlc-spec-driven -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/tlc-spec-driven/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install tech-leads-club/agent-skills tlc-spec-driven
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/tlc-spec-driven/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tech-leads-club/agent-skills --skill tlc-spec-driven -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/tech-leads-club/agent-skills --path 'packages/skills-catalog/skills/(development)/tlc-spec-driven'
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/tlc-spec-driven/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tech-leads-club/agent-skills --skill tlc-spec-driven -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- structure feature requirements using EARS notation
- break down work into atomic tasks with gates and commits
- enforce acceptance criteria with deterministic Python scripts
- verify user interface screens against original captures
- run mutation checks through an independent verifier sub-agent

## Example prompts
- Specify feature for user profile settings
- Validate implementation and run verification proofs
- Resume work and record decision in `.specs/`

description: Feature planning and implementation with 4 adaptive phases (Specify, Design, Tasks, Execute). Auto-sizes depth by complexity. Asks every product decision before the spec is approved, writes testable requirements in EARS notation, atomic tasks with a gate and a commit each, and one check per criterion with the test that proves it. Captures that come with the request bind, and each screen is judged against them. Ships deterministic Python scripts so the gates are enforced by code, not memory; the proofs run once at the end, and an independent Verifier (author != verifier) spends its time on mutations and judgement. Use when (1) planning features, (2) implementing with verification and atomic commits, (3) validating an implementation against a spec. Triggers on "specify feature", "discuss feature", "design", "tasks", "implement", "validate", "verify work", "UAT", "record decision", "pause work", "resume work". Do NOT use for pure architecture decomposition analysis or standalone technical design documents.

## Critical Rules (read before acting)

**Loading this skill's files.** Reference files live under `references/` in this skill's own directory (where this `SKILL.md` resides). Resolve them relative to the skill directory, never the workspace root. When a step tells you to read a reference, read it to the end before acting.
