# threads-growth

A skill that plans Threads account growth: niche, cadence, the reply engine and a funnel into Instagram. Useful when reach stalls or there is no strategy yet.

## What it does

This skill works at the channel level, above single-post craft. It reads `brand-profile` and `goals-and-kpis` first, then builds a plan on the TALKS framework: reply more than you post, anchor one niche, land the first hour, keep posts original and positive, sustain a funnel from Threads into Instagram. The agent drafts the original posts; WoopSocial publishes them on a schedule.

Replies are the biggest growth lever, and that is where the scope stops. WoopSocial has no reply surface, so the reply flywheel stays with a human or with the `community-management` skill, as do Communities, DMs, the Account Status dashboard and analytics. The agent can draft suggested replies but does not publish them. Worth knowing before you install: without someone actually replying, the plan will not move.

Other limits come from the platform itself. Engagement-bait gets downranked, recycled content is demoted, negativity is throttled, and growth compounds over 60–90 days. An Instagram following does not carry over automatically. Metrics are never invented — reach, replies ÷ reach and follower growth come from native analytics.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill threads-growth -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/threads-growth/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/threads-growth/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill threads-growth -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/threads-growth/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill threads-growth -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/threads-growth/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install social-media-skills/skills threads-growth
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/threads-growth/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill threads-growth -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills --path skills/threads-growth
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/threads-growth/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill threads-growth -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- build a channel strategy from scratch around one niche
- recover lost reach through replies instead of posting more
- set a posting cadence that does not burn out the account owner
- set up a discovery funnel from Threads into Instagram
- define growth metrics and read them from native analytics

## Example prompts
- Read brand-profile and goals-and-kpis, then build a Threads growth strategy using TALKS
- Map out the first-hour plan for this week's posts: when to publish and when to reply
- Draft reply options for conversations in our niche — I'll publish them myself

  The Threads account-growth strategy skill -- the channel layer above threads-post. Use when
  someone wants to grow a Threads account, understand the Threads algorithm, fix reach, plan
  cadence, or set a Threads strategy. Threads is conversation-first, and the #1 growth lever is
  Mosseri's "reply more than you post": replies are weighted heaviest and first-hour engagement
  velocity is the top ranking factor. Uses the TALKS framework. Reads brand-profile + goals-and-kpis
  first. The agent strategizes the channel + drafts original posts (published via WoopSocial) and
  suggested replies; BUT the reply flywheel is human/community-management (no reply surface in
  WoopSocial), and Communities/DMs/dashboards/analytics are native. No engagement-bait, original not
  recycled, positive tone, metrics never fabricated, growth compounds over 60-90 days. Distinct from
  threads-post (the single-post craft) and community-management (the reply execution); uses Threads
  as a discovery funnel into instagram-growth.

# threads-growth

The **account-strategy keystone** above `threads-post` — set the conversation-first channel strategy (niche,
cadence, the reply-more-than-post engine, format mix, the Threads→IG funnel, metrics). The agent
**strategizes + drafts the original posts + can draft suggested replies**; **WoopSocial publishes the
original posts**; the **reply flywheel, Communities, DMs, dashboards, and analytics are human/native.**

## The POV: conversation-first — grow by replying more than you post
Threads (~500M MAU mid-2026; ~141.5M daily mobile, more than X; ~6.25% engagement, far above X) is **neither X nor
Instagram** — a **conversation-first, positive** platform where dunks and negativity get **throttled.** The
defining lever is **Mosseri's "reply much more than you post":** replies are weighted heaviest, your **own
replies count**, and **first-hour engagement velocity is the #1 ranking factor.** It's an **interest graph**
(For You surfaces new accounts), so small accounts can break out — but growth **compounds over 60–90 days.**
WoopSocial publishes the original posts; the **reply flywheel is human.**

## Read these first
1. **brand-profile** — niche/voice.
2. **goals-and-kpis** — the growth goal + metric.

## The framework: TALKS
