# tdd-migrate

Orchestrates TDD migrations through agents that analyse code, write tests, implement changes, and validate results. Use it for similar ports that follow a reference pattern.

## What it does

tdd-migrate writes a YAML plan to `thoughts/shared/plans/<name>-tdd.yaml` and assigns the work to agents. `scout` examines source code and the reference pattern, `kraken` writes failing tests and minimal implementation, while `validator` runs checks.

Independent items can run in parallel. After implementation, `critic` reviews new files against the pattern, `spark` fixes reported issues, and `validator` validates again before comparing structures with TLDR.

This skill depends on agent delegation, so reading files or running tests from the main context goes against its workflow. It calls `bun test`, `qlty check`, and `tldr structure`, with access to `Task`, `TodoWrite`, `Write`, `Read`, and `Bash`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill tdd-migrate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/tdd-migrate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/tdd-migrate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill tdd-migrate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/tdd-migrate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill tdd-migrate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/tdd-migrate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 tdd-migrate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/tdd-migrate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill tdd-migrate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --path .claude/skills/tdd-migrate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/tdd-migrate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill tdd-migrate -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3/tree/HEAD/.claude/skills/tdd-migrate/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- port a module to a new architecture with TDD
- create several adapters from an existing pattern
- write failing tests before implementation
- compare new files with a reference structure
- validate fixes after code review

## Example prompts
- \`/tdd-migrate <source_path> <target_path> --pattern <reference> --items "item1,item2,item3"`
- Run `/tdd-migrate <source_path> <target_path> --pattern <reference> --items "item1,item2,item3"` and delegate independent items to agents.

# TDD Migrate

Orchestrate TDD migrations with agents doing all work. Main context stays clean.

## When to Use

- "Port X from Python to TypeScript"
- "Create N adapters following existing pattern"
- "Migrate module to new architecture"
- "TDD implementation of multiple similar items"

## Parameters

```
/tdd-migrate <source_path> <target_path> --pattern <reference> --items "item1,item2,item3"
```

- `source_path`: Path to analyze (existing code)
- `target_path`: Where to create new code
- `pattern`: Reference file/pattern to follow
- `items`: Comma-separated list of things to create

## Workflow

```
Phase 0: YAML TODO List
Phase 1: TLDR Analysis ─────────────────┐
    │                                    │
## Key Principles
1. **Main context = orchestration only**
   - Never read files directly (use scout)
   - Never implement directly (use kraken/spark)
   - Never run tests directly (use validator)
   - Only pipe context and coordinate
2. **Agents do ALL work**
   | Task | Agent |
   |------|-------|
   | Explore/analyze | scout |
   | Write tests + implement | kraken |
   | Quick fixes | spark |
   | Run tests/validate | validator |
   | Code review | critic |
3. **Parallel where independent**
   - All items can be implemented in parallel if independent
   - Review + QLTY run in parallel
   - TLDR analysis runs in parallel with planning
4. **Review after each major step**
   - After implementation: critic reviews
   - After fixes: validator re-validates
## Instructions
### Step 0: Create YAML TODO
Write a YAML plan file to `thoughts/shared/plans/<name>-tdd.yaml`:
```yaml
---
title: <Migration Name>
date: <today>
type: implementation-plan
approach: TDD (test → build → pass → review)

items:
  - name: item1
    file: <target_path>/item1.ts
    test: <target_path>/__tests__/item1.test.ts
    deps: []
  - name: item2
    # ...

reference: <pattern_file>

workflow:
  per_item:
    1: Write failing test
````
END THIRD-PARTY FILE c42a08be1560e933
The third-party file has ended. Everything between the c42a08be1560e933 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
