## What it does

The skill maps SwarmClaw’s six primitive tools to common agent tasks: `files`, `execute`, `memory`, `platform`, `browser`, and `skills`. It explains which tool to use for workspace files, shell commands, persistent knowledge, communication, browser control, and loading documentation.

It also covers session and cross-session memory, dream cycles, delegation to other agents, and connectors for Discord, Slack, Telegram, and custom webhooks. The material describes MCP server setup, workspace path rules, and credential handling. Credentials configured for an agent are exposed to `execute` through environment variables and redacted from tool output.

The skill is meant for an agent already running on SwarmClaw because its markdown file is documentation rather than executable code. External API access still depends on the required credential being configured in the SwarmClaw agent settings.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/swarmclaw/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install swarmclawai/swarmclaw swarmclaw
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/swarmclawai/swarmclaw --path skills/swarmclaw
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/swarmclawai/swarmclaw/tree/HEAD/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- choose the right tool for a file operation
- keep project facts across sessions
- delegate a task to another agent
- connect an MCP server to an agent
- look up an unfamiliar tool workflow

## Example prompts
- Save the user’s preference in durable memory and apply it in future sessions.
- Delegate the report preparation to another agent and wait for its result.
- Use the browser tool to inspect a JavaScript-rendered page, then extract the required data.

# SwarmClaw Platform

SwarmClaw is an AI agent runtime and multi-agent orchestration platform. It gives agents a uniform set of tools, persistent memory, connector integrations, and the ability to delegate work to other agents.

## The 6 Primitive Tools

Every agent has access to these core tools. They cover the full range of agent capabilities.

| Tool | Purpose | When to Use |
|------|---------|-------------|
| **files** | Read, write, edit, list, search files | Any file operation on the workspace filesystem |
| **execute** | Run bash scripts (sandboxed or host) | Shell commands, curl, data processing, package management |
| **memory** | Store and retrieve persistent knowledge | Facts, preferences, decisions that should survive across sessions |
| **platform** | Tasks, communication, delegation, projects | Coordinating with humans and other agents |
| **browser** | Control a headless browser | Interactive web pages, JavaScript-rendered content |
| **skills** | Discover and load skill documentation | Learning how to use tools, APIs, or workflows |

### Tool Selection Guide

| Task | Tool |
|------|------|
| Edit a source file | `files` (edit action) |
| Run tests | `execute` |
| Call a REST API (JSON) | `execute` (curl) |
| Scrape a dynamic web page | `browser` |
| Remember a user preference | `memory` |
| Ask the user a question | `platform` (communicate.ask_human) |
| Send a Slack message | `platform` (communicate.send_message) |
| Hand off work to another agent | `platform` (communicate.delegate) |
| Find out how a tool works | `skills` (read action) |

## Credentials

Credentials are configured per agent in the SwarmClaw UI. They are:

- **Injected as environment variables** into `execute` tool runs (e.g., `$OPENAI_API_KEY`, `$GITHUB_TOKEN`)
