## What it does

SwarmClaw is a self-hosted orchestration platform for AI agents. This skill hands your coding agent the CLI, and the commands line up with the REST API one to one: `swarmclaw <group> <action> [id] [--flags]`. From there it can spin up agents, clone them with their config, push tasks onto the board and open chatrooms where several agents answer at once.

Other command groups cover cron schedules, long-term memory, a goal hierarchy, wallets, connectors and webhooks. Ask for `--json` when something downstream has to parse the reply; `--raw` is there for the older commands. Filters look like `--query status=in_progress`, and memory can be searched or scanned for duplicates before a cleanup run.

Two things have to be in place first. The CLI itself goes in globally with `npm i -g @swarmclawai/swarmclaw`, and the shell needs `SWARMCLAW_ACCESS_KEY` — without it nothing runs. The default target is `http://localhost:3456`; point it elsewhere with `SWARMCLAW_URL` or `--base-url`.

One naming trap: `chats` on the command line are called sessions in the SwarmClaw UI. Same object, two labels.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/swarmclaw/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install swarmclawai/swarmclaw swarmclaw
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/swarmclawai/swarmclaw --path swarmclaw
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/swarmclaw/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add swarmclawai/swarmclaw --skill swarmclaw -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/swarmclawai/swarmclaw/tree/HEAD/swarmclaw/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- hand a batch of tasks to several agents and watch their status
- pull a group of agents into one room to work a problem together
- put an agent on a cron schedule for a recurring report
- keep a client preference in an agent's long-term memory
- import GitHub issues onto the task board

## Example prompts
- List all agents as JSON
- Create a task called Analyse competitor pricing and assign it to an agent
- Schedule a daily summary report from an agent at 9am

## Overview

SwarmClaw is a self-hosted AI agent orchestration platform. This skill gives you CLI access to manage agents, tasks, chats, chatrooms, goals, schedules, memory, wallets, connectors, autonomy controls, webhooks, extensions, and more across one or many SwarmClaw instances.

The CLI maps 1:1 to the SwarmClaw REST API. Every command follows the pattern:

```
swarmclaw <group> <action> [id] [--flags]
```

Install the CLI:

```bash
npm i -g @swarmclawai/swarmclaw
```

## Setup

1. Install: `npm i -g @swarmclawai/swarmclaw`
2. Set env var: `export SWARMCLAW_ACCESS_KEY=<your-key>` (shown in terminal on first run)
3. Default URL: `http://localhost:3456` — override with `SWARMCLAW_URL` or `--base-url`
4. Full docs: https://swarmclaw.ai/docs

## Output Modes

Use machine-readable output when parsing results:

- **`--json`** — structured JSON output (preferred for all API-mapped commands)
- **`--raw`** — plain text output (legacy commands)

Filter results with `--query key=value`:

```bash
swarmclaw tasks list --json --query status=in_progress
swarmclaw memory list --json --query agentId=abc123 --query q=pricing
swarmclaw runs list --json --query sessionId=xyz --query limit=10
```

## Core Commands

### Agents

Manage your agent fleet — create, configure, monitor, and clone agents.

```bash
# List all agents
swarmclaw agents list --json
# Get full agent details
swarmclaw agents get <agentId> --json
# Create an agent (pass JSON body via --data)
swarmclaw agents create --data '{"name":"Research Bot","provider":"anthropic","model":"claude-sonnet-4-20250514"}' --json
# Update agent config
swarmclaw agents update <agentId> --data '{"name":"Updated Name","soul":"You are a research assistant"}' --json
# Get live agent status (running chats, current task, etc.)
swarmclaw agents status <agentId> --json
# Clone an agent with all its config
swarmclaw agents clone <agentId> --json
# Bulk update multiple agents
swarmclaw agents bulk-update --data '{"ids":["id1","id2"],"changes":{"provider":"openai"}}' --json
```

Other: `delete`, `trash`, `restore`, `purge`, `thread`

### Tasks

Create, assign, and track work items on the task board.

```bash
````
