## What it does

The skill ships a set of frameworks you would otherwise rebuild in a spreadsheet. First comes an end-to-end supply chain map: raw materials through suppliers, manufacturing, distribution and the customer, with steps for tracing material, information and financial flows, plus a node table covering lead time, capacity and utilization.

Inventory math is next. It covers EOQ, safety stock, reorder point and a z-score table for service levels from 90.0% to 99.9%. Then ABC-XYZ: SKUs split by value and by demand variability, with a strategy for each of the nine combinations, from JIT and Kanban to ordering on demand. Vendor work gets its own section — a weighted evaluation matrix across quality, delivery and pricing, a rating scale that runs from strategic partner down to exit, and a quarterly KPI tracker. TCO rounds it out, splitting cost into acquisition, operating and disposal.

The templates are skeletons. Cells are empty and no industry figures are baked in, so the agent leans on your inputs: annual demand, ordering cost, holding cost per unit. Without those numbers an EOQ or safety stock calculation just substitutes zeros, so gather them before you start. The skill installs into Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add travisjneuman/.claude --skill supply-chain-optimizer -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/supply-chain-optimizer/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/supply-chain-optimizer/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add travisjneuman/.claude --skill supply-chain-optimizer -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/supply-chain-optimizer/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add travisjneuman/.claude --skill supply-chain-optimizer -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/supply-chain-optimizer/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install travisjneuman/.claude supply-chain-optimizer
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/supply-chain-optimizer/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add travisjneuman/.claude --skill supply-chain-optimizer -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/travisjneuman/.claude --path skills/supply-chain-optimizer
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/supply-chain-optimizer/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add travisjneuman/.claude --skill supply-chain-optimizer -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/travisjneuman/.claude/tree/HEAD/skills/supply-chain-optimizer/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- work out EOQ and reorder point from your own figures
- classify SKUs with ABC-XYZ and pick a replenishment strategy
- score suppliers against a weighted criteria matrix
- compare total cost of ownership instead of unit price
- spot bottlenecks and single points of failure in a supply chain

## Example prompts
- Map my supply chain end to end and flag the bottlenecks
- Calculate EOQ and safety stock: annual demand 10000, ordering cost 50, holding cost 5 per unit
- Build a vendor scorecard for three suppliers across quality, delivery and pricing

# Supply Chain Optimizer

Comprehensive frameworks for supply chain analysis, inventory management, logistics optimization, and vendor evaluation.

## Supply Chain Mapping Template

### End-to-End Supply Chain Map

```
RAW MATERIALS → SUPPLIERS → MANUFACTURING → DISTRIBUTION → CUSTOMER
MAPPING STEPS:
1. Identify all nodes (suppliers, plants, warehouses, customers)
2. Map material flows between nodes
3. Map information flows (orders, forecasts, POs)
4. Map financial flows (payments, invoicing)
5. Record lead times at each stage
6. Identify bottlenecks and single points of failure
NODE DETAIL TEMPLATE:
| Node           | Type       | Location  | Lead Time | Capacity | Utilization |
| -------------- | ---------- | --------- | --------- | -------- | ----------- |
|                | Supplier   |           |           |          |             |
|                | Plant      |           |           |          |             |
|                | Warehouse  |           |           |          |             |
|                | DC         |           |           |          |             |
```

## Inventory Optimization

### Economic Order Quantity (EOQ)

```
EOQ = sqrt(2DS / H)
Where: D = Annual demand, S = Ordering cost/order, H = Holding cost/unit/year
Total Cost = (D/Q)S + (Q/2)H + DC
Example: D=10,000, S=$50, H=$5 → EOQ = 447 units, 22.4 orders/year
```

### Safety Stock & Reorder Point

```
SAFETY STOCK: SS = z x sigma_dLT
REORDER POINT: ROP = (Avg Daily Demand x Lead Time) + Safety Stock
SERVICE LEVEL FACTORS:
| Service Level | z-Score | Use Case          |
| ------------- | ------- | ----------------- |
| 90.0%         | 1.28    | Basic coverage    |
| 95.0%         | 1.65    | Standard          |
| 99.0%         | 2.33    | High service      |
| 99.9%         | 3.09    | Critical items    |
```

### Inventory KPI Dashboard

| Metric                | Formula                                  | Target          |
