## What it does

The skill discovers functions served at `POST /rest/v1/rpc/[function_name]` and runs each through its checks. The report shows how a function is declared and what that means: `SECURITY DEFINER` without an `auth.uid()` check lets requests slip past RLS, and text or json parameters open the door to injection.

Findings are written as the run goes, not at the end. Each tested function lands in `.sb-pentest-context.json`, and `.sb-pentest-audit.log` gets an entry before and after every test. If the run crashes, what was already found stays on disk. You need the Supabase project URL and anon key, and a tables audit beforehand is recommended.

Risk follows the declaration. `SECURITY INVOKER` runs with the caller's permissions, `SECURITY DEFINER` with the owner's, and without an internal role check that is enough for an anonymous client to pull every row. Functions that build dynamic SQL are flagged P0 and land at the top of the fix list.

## Requirements
- Works with: Supabase, PostgreSQL

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-rpc -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/supabase-audit-rpc/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/supabase-audit-rpc/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-rpc -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/supabase-audit-rpc/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-rpc -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/supabase-audit-rpc/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills supabase-audit-rpc
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/supabase-audit-rpc/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-rpc -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --path skills/audit-api/supabase-audit-rpc
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/supabase-audit-rpc/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-rpc -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/audit-api/supabase-audit-rpc/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- find functions exposed on the Supabase RPC endpoint
- check whether a function bypasses row level security
- catch SQL injection in text parameters
- rank functions by risk and order the fixes
- save findings before a run is interrupted

## Example prompts
- Audit RPC functions on my Supabase project
- Test the get_user_data function for RLS bypass
- Check search_posts parameters for SQL injection

# RPC Functions Audit

> 🔴 **CRITICAL: PROGRESSIVE FILE UPDATES REQUIRED**
>
> You MUST write to context files **AS YOU GO**, not just at the end.
> - Write to `.sb-pentest-context.json` **IMMEDIATELY after each function tested**
> - Log to `.sb-pentest-audit.log` **BEFORE and AFTER each function test**
> - **DO NOT** wait until the skill completes to update files
> - If the skill crashes or is interrupted, all prior findings must already be saved
>
> **This is not optional. Failure to write progressively is a critical error.**

This skill discovers and tests PostgreSQL functions exposed via Supabase's RPC endpoint.

## When to Use This Skill

- To discover exposed database functions
- To test if functions bypass RLS
- To check for SQL injection in function parameters
- As part of comprehensive API security testing

## Prerequisites

- Supabase URL and anon key available
- Tables audit completed (recommended)

## Understanding Supabase RPC

Supabase exposes PostgreSQL functions via:

```
POST https://[project].supabase.co/rest/v1/rpc/[function_name]
```

Functions can:
- ✅ Respect RLS (if using `auth.uid()` and proper security)
- ❌ Bypass RLS (if `SECURITY DEFINER` without checks)
- ❌ Execute arbitrary SQL (if poorly written)

## Risk Levels for Functions

| Type | Risk | Description |
|------|------|-------------|
| `SECURITY INVOKER` | Lower | Runs with caller's permissions |
| `SECURITY DEFINER` | Higher | Runs with definer's permissions |
| Accepts text/json | Higher | Potential for injection |
| Returns setof | Higher | Can return multiple rows |

## Usage

### Basic RPC Audit

```
Audit RPC functions on my Supabase project
```

### Test Specific Function

```
Test the get_user_data RPC function
```

## Output Format
