## What it does

The skill enumerates Edge Functions in a Supabase project and runs four checks on each: discovery, JWT requirements, input validation, error handling. Findings go into `.sb-pentest-context.json` right after a function is tested, and the run log lands in `.sb-pentest-audit.log` before and after every test. Interrupt the skill and the results are still on disk.

The report walks through functions one at a time. A public `hello-world` with no auth is fine. A `get-user-data` that returns another user's records from a `user_id` parameter is not, and neither is an `admin-panel` reachable by any logged-in user. Both are P0. Each finding comes with a TypeScript fix: verify ownership against the JWT, check the role in the `profiles` table.

You need the Supabase project URL and a completed detection step before running this. Webhook signature checks can't be tested without a valid signature, so a `webhook-handler` gets a partial verdict at best.

## Requirements
- Works with: Supabase

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-functions -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/supabase-audit-functions/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/supabase-audit-functions/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-functions -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/supabase-audit-functions/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-functions -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/supabase-audit-functions/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills supabase-audit-functions
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/supabase-audit-functions/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-functions -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --path skills/audit-functions/supabase-audit-functions
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/supabase-audit-functions/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-functions -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- find Edge Functions exposed without authentication
- catch IDOR where a function returns any user's data from `user_id`
- check whether an admin endpoint verifies the caller's role
- see if error responses leak stack traces or signature format
- probe input validation: missing amount, negative amount, string instead of number

## Example prompts
- Audit the Edge Functions on my Supabase project
- Test the `process-payment` function for security issues
- Check whether `admin-panel` requires an admin role

# Edge Functions Audit

> 🔴 **CRITICAL: PROGRESSIVE FILE UPDATES REQUIRED**
>
> You MUST write to context files **AS YOU GO**, not just at the end.
> - Write to `.sb-pentest-context.json` **IMMEDIATELY after each function tested**
> - Log to `.sb-pentest-audit.log` **BEFORE and AFTER each function test**
> - **DO NOT** wait until the skill completes to update files
> - If the skill crashes or is interrupted, all prior findings must already be saved
>
> **This is not optional. Failure to write progressively is a critical error.**

This skill discovers and tests Supabase Edge Functions for security issues.

## When to Use This Skill

- To discover exposed Edge Functions
- To test function authentication requirements
- To check for input validation issues
- As part of comprehensive security audit

## Prerequisites

- Supabase URL available
- Detection completed

## Understanding Edge Functions

Supabase Edge Functions are Deno-based serverless functions:

```
https://[project].supabase.co/functions/v1/[function-name]
```

| Security Aspect | Consideration |
|-----------------|---------------|
| Authentication | Functions can require JWT or be public |
| CORS | Cross-origin access control |
| Input Validation | User input handling |
| Secrets | Environment variable exposure |

## Tests Performed

| Test | Purpose |
|------|---------|
| Function discovery | Find exposed functions |
| Auth requirements | Check if JWT required |
| Input validation | Test for injection |
| Error handling | Check for information disclosure |

## Usage

### Basic Function Audit

```
Audit Edge Functions on my Supabase project
```

### Test Specific Function

```
Test the process-payment Edge Function for security issues
```
