## What it does

The skill runs the registration flow through a set of tests: is signup public, does it accept malformed addresses, are disposable domains like mailinator.com blocked, which passwords pass, is there a rate limit, and what does the response reveal when you try an address that already exists. Each test comes back with a verdict and a severity level.

Findings are written as the run goes, not at the end. `.sb-pentest-context.json` gets updated after every completed test, and `.sb-pentest-audit.log` records entries before and after each one. If the run crashes, the results are already on disk. That matters when an audit takes a while.

You need the Supabase project URL and an anon key. The author recommends finishing the auth config audit first, so conclusions such as whether email confirmation is required rest on data you already collected. Run this against your own project: the tests create real accounts and hit rate limits, so pointing it at someone else's production is a reason to ask permission first.

## Requirements
- Works with: Supabase

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-auth-signup -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/supabase-audit-auth-signup/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/supabase-audit-auth-signup/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-auth-signup -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/supabase-audit-auth-signup/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-auth-signup -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/supabase-audit-auth-signup/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills supabase-audit-auth-signup
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/supabase-audit-auth-signup/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-auth-signup -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --path skills/audit-auth/supabase-audit-auth-signup
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/supabase-audit-auth-signup/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills --skill supabase-audit-auth-signup -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/yoanbernabeu/supabase-pentest-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/audit-auth/supabase-audit-auth-signup/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- check whether signup is open and should be locked down
- find out if the form accepts disposable email domains
- learn the minimum password length Supabase allows
- measure how many accounts one IP can create
- see if the response leaks that an email is already registered

## Example prompts
- Test signup security on my Supabase project
- Check if disposable emails are blocked for signup
- Run the signup flow audit and save findings to the context file

# Signup Flow Audit

> 🔴 **CRITICAL: PROGRESSIVE FILE UPDATES REQUIRED**
>
> You MUST write to context files **AS YOU GO**, not just at the end.
> - Write to `.sb-pentest-context.json` **IMMEDIATELY after each test completed**
> - Log to `.sb-pentest-audit.log` **BEFORE and AFTER each test**
> - **DO NOT** wait until the skill completes to update files
> - If the skill crashes or is interrupted, all prior findings must already be saved
>
> **This is not optional. Failure to write progressively is a critical error.**

This skill tests the user registration flow for security issues and misconfigurations.

## When to Use This Skill

- To verify if signup is appropriately restricted
- To test for signup abuse vectors
- To check rate limiting on registration
- As part of authentication security audit

## Prerequisites

- Supabase URL and anon key available
- Auth config audit completed (recommended)

## Why Signup Security Matters

Open signup can lead to:

| Risk | Description |
|------|-------------|
| Spam accounts | Bots creating fake accounts |
| Resource abuse | Free tier exploitation |
| Email spam | Using your service to send emails |
| Data pollution | Fake data in your database |
| Attack surface | More accounts = more attack vectors |

## Tests Performed

| Test | Purpose |
|------|---------|
| Signup availability | Is registration open? |
| Email validation | Does it accept invalid emails? |
| Rate limiting | Can we create many accounts? |
| Disposable emails | Are temp emails blocked? |
| Password policy | What passwords are accepted? |
| Response information | What info is leaked? |

## Usage

### Basic Signup Test

```
Test signup security on my Supabase project
```

### Check Specific Aspects

```
Test if disposable emails are blocked for signup
```

## Output Format

```
