## What it does

This skill designs programmatic page systems. It targets comparisons, directories, and location templates. Instead of swapping keyword tokens into generic copy, it establishes structured data models. If present, `.agents/product-marketing.md` supplies the business and audience context.

Data sources fall into five defensibility tiers. Relying solely on tier-5 public records without original analysis flags pages as doorways. Because of this, the skill requires adding custom calculations or proprietary layers. Internal linking routes through hub pages with crawl paths under four clicks. Sitemaps stay split by page type.

Quality gates evaluate a sample of 10 pages or 5% of the planned volume. At least 90% of the sample must satisfy each gate before rollout. Most verdicts remain advisory. The agent pauses only on severe risks like credential leaks or legal issues.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add JasonColapietro/suede-creator-skills --skill suede-programmatic-seo -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/suede-programmatic-seo/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/suede-programmatic-seo/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add JasonColapietro/suede-creator-skills --skill suede-programmatic-seo -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/suede-programmatic-seo/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add JasonColapietro/suede-creator-skills --skill suede-programmatic-seo -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/suede-programmatic-seo/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install JasonColapietro/suede-creator-skills suede-programmatic-seo
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/suede-programmatic-seo/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add JasonColapietro/suede-creator-skills --skill suede-programmatic-seo -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/JasonColapietro/suede-creator-skills --path skills/suede-programmatic-seo
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/suede-programmatic-seo/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add JasonColapietro/suede-creator-skills --skill suede-programmatic-seo -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/JasonColapietro/suede-creator-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/suede-programmatic-seo/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- select the right programmatic pattern for comparisons, directories, or templates
- build structured data models and conditional page templates
- audit page samples against search spam policies before indexing
- organize internal linking hubs and segregated sitemaps

## Example prompts
- Design an integration page system following the suede-programmatic-seo guidelines
- Evaluate a 10-page comparison sample against doorway and thin content gates
- Set up the data model and internal linking structure for our location directory

# Suede Programmatic SEO

Programmatic pages work when each one answers a real query with data the
searcher cannot get faster elsewhere. They fail, and can drag the whole site
down, when they are one template with a swapped city name. This skill treats
page count as something a sample earns, never a target.

## Gate policy: advisory, not blocking

Every gate and verdict here is a recommendation to the user, not a control on
the agent. A failed gate changes what you report, never what you do. Single
exception: an extremely risky finding (data loss, credential exposure, legal or
rights violations, payment mistakes, irreversible public damage) pauses for the
user's choice.

## The policy line you must stay behind

Google's spam policies name three patterns programmatic sites trip most:

- **Scaled content abuse**: many pages generated mainly to manipulate rankings
  or AI answers and not to help people, whatever tool produced them.
- **Doorway abuse**: sites or pages created to rank for similar queries that
  funnel users to the same destination ("[service] in [city]" pages with
  nothing local on them).
- **Site reputation abuse**: third-party pages published on a host site to
  borrow its ranking signals with little first-party oversight.

Google also says AI answers need no special pages; producing variants for AI
is the same abuse. Every gate below exists to keep a page set on the right
side of this line. Source: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies

## Initial assessment

Read `.agents/product-marketing.md` (or `.claude/product-marketing.md`, or the
legacy `product-marketing-context.md`) if present. Then establish:

1. **Business**: product, audience, the conversion each page should earn.
