## What it does

This skill treats content as a portfolio rather than a queue of articles. It starts by collecting context: what the company does, who the ideal customer is, which questions come up before a purchase, which objections surface on sales calls, what already exists and what performs. If `.agents/product-marketing.md` is present, the skill reads it first and asks only about what it leaves out.

Content then splits into searchable and shareable. Searchable captures demand that already exists; shareable creates it. Searchable is the default first priority because search demand can be measured, though the order flips when the goal or the evidence says so — a category with no search volume, for instance. The skill asks you to record which order you picked, since that choice feeds the weighting later. Topics get mapped to buyer stages: awareness, consideration, decision, implementation, each with its own modifier set.

There is a structure for pillars and clusters: 3–5 topics the brand takes ownership of, each spawning a cluster of related pieces. Pillars can come from the product, the audience, search data or competitors. The skill also sorts content types — use-case pages, hub and spoke, template libraries, research on your own data, expert roundups, case studies. Original data is treated as the asset most worth citing, so each finding needs a stable URL, a method, a sample and a date. It plans; it does not write.

## When to use it
- pick what to publish next quarter and defend the choice to the team
- map topics to buyer stages and match the right query modifiers
- spot where search engines and AI answers leave your category uncovered
- decide which pieces to refresh and which to stop producing
- tie each asset to a KPI instead of a publication count

## Example prompts
- Build our content strategy: pillars, topic clusters and priorities for the quarter
- What questions do customers ask before buying, and which topics grow out of them?
- Review our content portfolio and tell me which sections we should drop

# Suede Content Strategy

Use this Suede content-strategy playbook to plan evidence-backed content that earns search, sharing, trust, or qualified demand.

## Before Planning

Read `.agents/product-marketing.md` first if it exists and ask only for what it does not cover; see `suede-product-marketing` for path fallbacks.

Gather this context (ask if not provided):

### 1. Business Context
- What does the company do?
- Who is the ideal customer?
- What's the primary goal for content? (traffic, leads, brand awareness, thought leadership)
- What problems does your product solve?

### 2. Customer Research
- What questions do customers ask before buying?
- What objections come up in sales calls?
- What topics appear repeatedly in support tickets?
- What language do customers use to describe their problems?

### 3. Current State
- Do you have existing content? What's working?
- What resources do you have? (writers, budget, time)
- What content formats can you produce? (written, video, audio)

### 4. Competitors
- Who are your main competitors?
- What content gaps exist in your market?
