## What it does

This skill searches and provisions infrastructure without manual sign-ups across multiple websites. It queries the Stripe catalog, initializes local configuration, and configures resources like databases, caches, or hosting providers.

Under the hood, the skill uses the official `projects` CLI plugin. It tracks infrastructure state inside the `.projects/` folder and updates the project `.env` file directly. Do not edit `.env` by hand. The CLI acts as the single authority and overwrites unmanaged lines.

Stripe CLI version 1.40.0 or higher is required before starting. If your Stripe account lacks Projects access or prompts for browser authentication, automated execution halts until you finish onboarding manually.

## Requirements
- Works with: Stripe, PostgreSQL

## Install

### Codex (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill stripe-projects -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/stripe-projects/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Claude Code

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill stripe-projects -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/stripe-projects/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/stripe-projects/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/stripe-projects/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install openai/plugins stripe-projects
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/stripe-projects/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/openai/plugins --path plugins/stripe/skills/stripe-projects
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/stripe-projects/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/openai/plugins/tree/HEAD/plugins/stripe/skills/stripe-projects/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- provision a managed database without leaving the terminal
- retrieve credentials for third-party cloud services
- sync service environment variables into a local `.env`
- inspect current project infrastructure and dependencies

## Example prompts
- Search Stripe Projects for a Postgres provider and set it up
- List available authentication services in the catalog
- Add a custom project variable named APP_URL to the active environment
