## What it does

This skill turns source material into visual specifications with an insight-led message, disciplined layout, and checked data. It covers executive slides, reports, proposals, diagrams, infographics, and technical documentation. Each headline is shaped around one answer or one tension.

Included scripts build HTML decks, print-ready A4 reports, speaker scripts, and article views from a deck manifest. Separate interactive builders support clickable evidence, slider-based recalculation, drill-down views, and presenter demos. A final chart still needs enough data to verify its labels, scales, and claims.

The skill can be installed for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. For a complete deck, start from an archetype template and replace its illustrative data with the project’s real content.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kgraph57/mckinsey-style-visualization-skill --skill strategy-consulting-visualization -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/strategy-consulting-visualization/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/strategy-consulting-visualization/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kgraph57/mckinsey-style-visualization-skill --skill strategy-consulting-visualization -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/strategy-consulting-visualization/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kgraph57/mckinsey-style-visualization-skill --skill strategy-consulting-visualization -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/strategy-consulting-visualization/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install kgraph57/mckinsey-style-visualization-skill strategy-consulting-visualization
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/strategy-consulting-visualization/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kgraph57/mckinsey-style-visualization-skill --skill strategy-consulting-visualization -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/kgraph57/mckinsey-style-visualization-skill
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/strategy-consulting-visualization/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kgraph57/mckinsey-style-visualization-skill --skill strategy-consulting-visualization -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/kgraph57/mckinsey-style-visualization-skill/tree/HEAD/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build an HTML deck from a template
- turn raw data into executive slides
- create a print-ready A4 report
- add an interactive companion to a presentation

## Example prompts
- Turn these findings into an executive deck and choose a suitable template.
- Convert this Markdown into a browser-ready A4 HTML report.
- Build an interactive version with a slider and clickable evidence.

# Strategy Consulting Visualization

## Purpose

Use this skill to turn any content into professional visualization specs with strategy-consulting clarity: insight-led headlines, disciplined layout, accurate data, restrained design, and explicit implications. It covers board slides first, and generalizes to reports, proposals, training materials, technical diagrams, infographics, and any input that benefits from visual structure.

## Fast Path

Skip the pattern-by-pattern build when the user just wants a complete, real deck or document immediately.

**Full deck** — scaffold a ready-made archetype from `templates/decks/`, then fill in the illustrative placeholders with real data:

```bash
python3 scripts/scaffold_deck.py --list                       # 6 archetypes with slide counts
python3 scripts/scaffold_deck.py board-update -o my-deck       # copies deck.json + specs/
# edit my-deck/specs/*.json with real data, keeping the pattern shapes intact
python3 scripts/build_html_deck.py --manifest my-deck/deck.json -o my-deck/deck.html
```

**Click-through motion presentation** — when the reader should enter a page
from an overview, press the exhibit or its main number for supporting detail,
and verify the claim through an operation, use the story-led presentation
route. This is the preferred route for a reference-led request for うちた-style
動く資料 or クリックで深掘り. Read `references/motion-story.md` and author a
small `motion.json`; the six-page Japanese example demonstrates the components:

```bash
python3 scripts/build_motion_deck.py --manifest examples/interactive-deck/motion.json -o deck.motion.html
python3 scripts/build_motion_deck.py --manifest examples/interactive-deck/motion.json --static -o deck.motion.static.html
```

The opening is a navigable argument, followed by evidence-led pages with one
primary operation each. Exhibits and prominent numbers open a source-bearing
drawer; classification sorts, comparison retains the prior shape, a slider
recalculates the displayed formula, actions fill a gap, and a timeline advances
through real decisions. Review the entire flow and run the visible cursor demo
through its ending in the page overview. A single redesigned comparison page
does not satisfy a request for this whole-deck experience.
