# story-bank-builder

Turns interviews, case notes and testimonials into reusable story units — origin, founder, customer, transformation, proof — each tagged to a pillar and a claims-ledger ID.

## What it does

The skill takes interview transcripts, case notes, testimonials and win-loss material and builds a set of story units. Each unit carries a one-line premise, the arc beats, the message-house pillar it supports, and the claim-ledger IDs its proofs map to. Every proof gets a label: Measured, User-provided or `[needs source]`.

It runs on your own material, so no connector is needed — a story bank is a synthesis, not a scrape. You do need the rights to use whatever you feed it. An unverified proof never gets asserted as fact: the skill marks it `[needs source]` and submits it to `memory/events/claims.ndjson` through an `operation: propose` request to `registry-events.py`. Deciding whether a proof is true is not its job — that belongs to offer-claims-registry.

The scope guard is strict. With no pillars to tag against, the skill stops and routes you to message-system-architect first. It does not write finished long-form prose, does not codify brand voice, and does not place proof modules on surfaces. The bank lands in `memory/narrative/story-bank-builder/`, while canon-grade story elements are only proposed via `memory/events/narrative.ndjson` — narrative-registry is the one that writes those records.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill story-bank-builder -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/story-bank-builder/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/story-bank-builder/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill story-bank-builder -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/story-bank-builder/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill story-bank-builder -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/story-bank-builder/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills story-bank-builder
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/story-bank-builder/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill story-bank-builder -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --path narrative/architect/story-bank-builder
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/story-bank-builder/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill story-bank-builder -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- build a brand story bank from interviews and case notes
- map every proof to a claims-ledger ID
- flag unbacked proofs with a `[needs source]` label
- tag each story unit to a message-house pillar
- produce reusable story units for downstream surfaces

## Example prompts
- Build a story bank for [product] from these customer interviews and case notes: [paste]. Tag each story to a pillar.
- Assemble our origin, founder, and transformation stories and map each proof point to a claims-ledger ID.
- Turn this win-loss and testimonial material into reusable proof stories, flagging any proof that lacks a source.
