## What it does

The skill provides pinouts, clock tree configurations, and peripheral drivers tailored to the WeAct Studio MiniSTM32H7xx board. It focuses on the STM32H750VBT6 microcontroller with its 128 KB internal flash constraint, the ST7735S display, onboard flash chips, and the USB interface.

Subtle Cortex-M7 hardware traps are mapped out directly. Because the board has no SMPS, configuring anything other than `PWR_LDO_SUPPLY` starves the core and disables SWD access until a BOOT0 power cycle. The reference also handles cache maintenance, requiring 32-byte buffer alignment and keeping DMA1 and DMA2 transfers outside DTCM or ITCM memory.

It includes patterns for pushing display buffers in RAM bands to cut ST7735 SPI transactions, enabling crystal-less USB CDC via HSI48, and correcting flash size definitions in `platformio.ini`. A starter script scaffolds minimal or full projects directly into your workspace.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill stm32h750-weact -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/stm32h750-weact/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/stm32h750-weact/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill stm32h750-weact -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/stm32h750-weact/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill stm32h750-weact -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/stm32h750-weact/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install alexex1993/mcu-skills stm32h750-weact
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/stm32h750-weact/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill stm32h750-weact -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/alexex1993/mcu-skills --path skills/stm32/stm32h750-weact
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/stm32h750-weact/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill stm32h750-weact -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/alexex1993/mcu-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/stm32/stm32h750-weact/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- set accurate flash and RAM boundaries in platformio.ini for the 128 KB chip
- configure PLL1 and HSE clocks for 240 MHz core execution
- handle D-cache clean and invalidate steps for DMA buffers
- speed up SPI frame transfers on the onboard ST7735S display
- bring up USB OTG2_FS without an external crystal using HSI48

## Example prompts
- Scaffold a PlatformIO project for the WeAct STM32H750 board with ST7735 LCD support
- Fix DMA buffer corruption caused by D-cache on an STM32H750VBT6
- Show the clock initialization code for WeAct H750 using a 25 MHz HSE crystal

# WeAct STM32H750VBT6 core board

Board-specific firmware knowledge. The two reference files hold the detail — read the one you need
rather than guessing, because most of the failure modes below are silent (the board runs, just
wrongly).

- `reference/board-hardware.md` — complete hardware reference: schematic-level pin map, every
  connector, power tree, memory map, SDK/examples inventory, **plus** a full development guide
  (Part II: §12 PlatformIO, §13 clocks, §14 peripheral cookbook, §15 M7 gotchas, §16 flashing,
  §17 pitfall table).
- `reference/recipes.md` — copy-paste-ready code: `platformio.ini`, clock config, LCD driver with the
  fast blit path, backlight PWM, ADC temperature sensor, USB CDC, DWT frame pacing.
- `template/` — a **complete working project** that builds and flashes, plus a scaffolding script.
  It is where every recipe was extracted from; see `template/README.md`.

## Rules that prevent the expensive mistakes

Check these before writing code — each one produces a failure that looks like something else.

1. **`-DHSE_VALUE=25000000`** in `build_flags`. The stock `framework-stm32cubeh7` CMSIS template
   already defaults `HSE_VALUE` to 25 MHz — matching this board's crystal by coincidence, the same
   way the F4 template does for the Black Pill — so this currently works without the flag. It stops
   working the moment a CubeMX-generated `stm32h7xx_hal_conf.h` from a different H7 board (most
   Nucleo/Eval H7 boards run their HSE from an 8 MHz ST-Link MCO) gets dropped in: the PLL still
   locks, but every derived timing is wrong by ~3×. Set it explicitly so the project doesn't depend
