## What it does

The skill checks readiness before it packages anything. You need an approved brief and full-page wireframes, or the prototype view; if a journey exists, every screen it names needs a wireframe. An open critical finding from an evaluation blocks the package — the skill that owns that screen settles it first.

Before packaging, the design goes through an ethical check against the anti-pattern catalog: prechecked consent, confirmshaming, fabricated urgency, asymmetric options, addictive mechanics. The outcome lands as one entry in the decision log. Nothing separate ships for it. A pattern the design cannot justify from the user's side stops the package.

The brief and the wireframes always go in. The service blueprint, journey map, information architecture, state inventory, accessibility documentation, measurement framework and copy deck ride along when the project made them. No visual design: no color, type, spacing or motion beyond what the journey's interaction specification states. The builder picks the stack. The one file the skill writes itself is `README.md` at the package root — what the product is, what is inside, how the pieces fit, what is left to the builder.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ghaida/intent --skill specify -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/specify/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/specify/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ghaida/intent --skill specify -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/specify/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ghaida/intent --skill specify -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/specify/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install ghaida/intent specify
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/specify/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ghaida/intent --skill specify -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/ghaida/intent --path skills/specify
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/specify/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ghaida/intent --skill specify -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/ghaida/intent/tree/HEAD/skills/specify/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- package existing design artifacts into a build handoff
- check whether a design is ready to build before handing it off
- run the ethical review before the package goes out
- give a coding agent one entry page describing the product and the package
- record in the decision log what the design leaves open on purpose

## Example prompts
- prepare the handoff for the build
- package this design for the coding agent
- what does the coding agent need to start building

# Specify — Package the design for the build

## Overview

This skill packages an approved design for whoever builds it: an engineering team or a coding agent. The handoff is the project's own artifacts. The brief says what the product is for; the wireframes say what every screen holds; the journey, the information architecture and the blueprint say how the screens connect and what runs behind them; the state inventory, the accessibility documentation and the measurement framework say how the design behaves outside the happy path and how its success will be read. Nothing re-describes those artifacts. The skill writes one page in front of them that says what the product is, what is in the package, how the pieces fit, and what is left to the builder.

No visual design: the package carries no color, type, spacing or motion beyond what the journey's interaction specification states. The builder picks the stack.

## Skill family

Each of these makes an artifact that rides in the package when the project made it:

- **`/strategize`**: the design brief. Always in the package; the entry page's first paragraph is drawn from it.
- **`/wireframe`**: the full-page wireframes, with the prototype view when one exists. Always in the package; every screen the journey names has one.
- **`/journey`**: the user journey map and its interaction specification.
- **`/organize`**: the information architecture.
- **`/blueprint`**: the service blueprint.
- **`/fortify`**: the state inventory and the edge case catalog.
- **`/include`**: the screen reader flow documentation, the keyboard navigation map and the remediation plan.
- **`/measure`**: the measurement framework.
- **`/articulate`**: the copy deck, where copy exists beyond what the wireframes carry (an error message inventory, a voice framework).
