# social-proof-and-testimonials

Turns real reviews, case studies and UGC into posts matched to a specific buyer objection. Useful when proof has to land at the point of doubt.

## What it does

The skill runs on the VOUCH framework: vet real proof, match it to the buyer's doubt, unearth the specifics, cast the customer as the hero. It reads `brand-profile` and `audience-research` first, because without them there is nothing to match against.

From there the material goes to the format writers and `design-and-templates`, and WoopSocial publishes. The skill does not collect reviews, verify authenticity or judge the proof. A human sources the testimonial and secures consent, and paid use needs broader rights than an organic post.

One hard line: never fabricate. No AI-generated reviews, no inflated ratings, no quietly burying negatives, since the FTC consumer reviews rule treats that as enforcement bait. The skill advises keeping honest mixed reviews, because a flawless wall of fives reads as fake. If a result is not typical, a bare "results not typical" label is not enough under FTC guidance.

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill social-proof-and-testimonials -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/social-proof-and-testimonials/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/social-proof-and-testimonials/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill social-proof-and-testimonials -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/social-proof-and-testimonials/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill social-proof-and-testimonials -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/social-proof-and-testimonials/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

## When to use it
- build a post from a real customer review
- match a proof point to a price objection
- turn a case study into a results carousel
- reshare UGC with rights sorted out
- place a testimonial where buyers hesitate

## Example prompts
- Build a post from this customer review and tie it to the price objection
- Turn this case study into a results carousel with the numbers
- Prep a UGC reshare — the customer already gave consent

  The proof content type — turn real customer reviews, testimonials, UGC, case studies, and results

# social-proof-and-testimonials

The **proof content type** — vet real proof, match it to the objection, unearth the specifics, cast the customer
as the hero, and hand it across formats + placements. The **format writers** turn it into cuts, **WoopSocial
publishes**, and proof gets placed where doubt is highest.

## The POV: the best content is the content you don't write — if it's real and specific
Peers out-trust brands by a wide margin (per Nielsen, ~92% trust peer recommendations over advertising), so a
real customer's words persuade where your copy can't. But most proof content fails two ways: it's **generic**
("great service!" convinces no one — specifics do), or it's **manufactured**. As of the **FTC's 2024 fake-review
rule**, fabricated, AI-generated, undisclosed-insider, or sentiment-incentivized testimonials are enforcement
bait (penalties over $50k/violation) — and a flawless 5.0 wall reads as fake anyway. The counter-intuition that
separates top-1% work: **honest negatives raise credibility**, and the believable testimonial **names the
objection and the specific result.** The skill is sourcing real proof, matching it to the doubt, and making it
specific — never inventing it.

## Read these first
1. **brand-profile** — the real proof points / results you actually hold.
2. **audience-research** — the specific objections the proof must dissolve.

## The framework: VOUCH
