## What it does

This skill provides structured Slack automation workflows inspired by n8n patterns. It contains ready-to-use definitions for async daily standup bots, tiered expense approvals, onboarding timelines, and incident response escalation.

To actually interact with Slack, the skill relies on the `slack-mcp` server using `slack_post_message`, `slack_create_channel`, and `slack_workflow_trigger`. Without this MCP integration running, the workflows remain static templates.

The repository recommends using `claude-sonnet-4`. Declared language support includes English and Chinese.

## Requirements
- Works with: Slack

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill slack-workflows -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/slack-workflows/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/slack-workflows/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill slack-workflows -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/slack-workflows/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill slack-workflows -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/slack-workflows/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install claude-office-skills/skills slack-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/slack-workflows/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill slack-workflows -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills --path slack-workflows
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/slack-workflows/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill slack-workflows -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills/tree/HEAD/slack-workflows/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- collect asynchronous daily standup updates across team members
- route expense approval requests to managers based on amount thresholds
- spin up dedicated incident channels and notify on-call engineers
- schedule employee onboarding checkpoints from day one to day 30

## Example prompts
- Configure an async daily standup bot that posts a summary to #team-standup at 11 AM
- Set up a tiered expense approval workflow with buttons for manager sign-off

        3️⃣ Any blockers?

        Reply in this thread 👇

  2. collect_responses:
      timeout: 2_hours
      reminder: at_1_hour

  3. compile_summary:
      time: "11:00 AM"
      channel: "#team-standup"
      format: |
        📋 *Daily Standup - {date}*

        {for_each_member}
        *{name}*
        ✅ Yesterday: {yesterday}

        🚧 Blockers: {blockers}

        ---
        {end_for}

        *Summary:*
        • {total} team members responded
        • {blockers_count} blockers flagged

  4. flag_blockers:
      if: blockers_count > 0
      notify: manager
      action: create_thread_for_discussion
```
### 2. Approval Workflow
```yaml
workflow: "Expense Approval"
trigger: form_submission OR slash_command

  1. receive_request:
      data:
        - requester
        - amount
        - category
        - description
        - receipt_url

  2. route_approval:
      rules:
        - if: amount < 100
          approver: direct_manager

          approver: department_head

        - if: amount >= 1000
          approver: [department_head, finance]
          type: sequential

  3. send_approval_request:
      channel: DM to approver
      message: |
        📝 *Expense Approval Request*

        *From:* {requester}
        *Amount:* ${amount}
        *Category:* {category}
        *Description:* {description}
