# Skywork-ppt

A skill for PowerPoint work: it builds a deck from a topic, copies the look of an existing template, and edits slides through plain instructions.

## What it does

Four paths sit inside the skill. Generate a new presentation from a topic or a set of requirements, imitate the layout of an existing `.pptx`, edit a deck in natural language, or run local file operations with no backend at all. The local path handles deleting slides, reordering them, extracting and merging, and takes 1-based indexes such as `3,5,7-9`.

You need `SKYWORK_API_KEY` and Python 3.8 or newer before the first run. The skill probes for a working interpreter across `python3`, `python` and versions 3.13 down to 3.8, then installs `python-pptx`. Generation, imitation and editing upload local files and send the full query text to the Skywork service, so keep confidential material on the local path — that one runs entirely on your machine. Worth checking what you hand over.

Backend jobs are polled for status roughly every 5 seconds, and the script call expects a long wait: the instructions set exec `yieldMs` to `600000`. When it finishes, you get the absolute `.pptx` path plus a download URL.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SkyworkAI/Skywork-Skills --skill skywork-ppt -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/skywork-ppt/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/skywork-ppt/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SkyworkAI/Skywork-Skills --skill skywork-ppt -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/skywork-ppt/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SkyworkAI/Skywork-Skills --skill skywork-ppt -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/skywork-ppt/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install SkyworkAI/Skywork-Skills skywork-ppt
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/skywork-ppt/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SkyworkAI/Skywork-Skills --skill skywork-ppt -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/SkyworkAI/Skywork-Skills --path skywork-ppt
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/skywork-ppt/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SkyworkAI/Skywork-Skills --skill skywork-ppt -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/SkyworkAI/Skywork-Skills/tree/HEAD/skywork-ppt/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a deck from a topic with no starting file
- reuse the styling of an existing template
- rewrite a slide from a written instruction
- delete or reorder pages in a local file
- merge several `.pptx` files into one

## Example prompts
- generate a presentation about our Q3 results, 10 slides
- use this template and make a deck about the new product
- modify slide 4: change the background and the title
