## What it does

This skill scaffolds standard directories for new agent capabilities, preparing `SKILL.md` with required frontmatter alongside `scripts/`, `references/`, and `assets/` folders. It enforces hyphen-cased naming. An automated validation step verifies manifest formatting before packaging.

Once confirmed, the files bundle into a distributable zip archive. The workflow then notifies your team in Slack using Rube actions such as `SLACK_SEND_MESSAGE` and `SLACK_POST_MESSAGE_WITH_BLOCKS`.

The setup requires Python 3.7+ and local write permissions. Without an active Slack connection configured through Rube, automated channel notifications will fail.

## Requirements
- Works with: Slack

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill utilities/skill-share
```

2. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add davila7/claude-code-templates --skill skill-share -a claude-code
```

3. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/skill-share/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/skill-share/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/skill-share/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/skill-share/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install davila7/claude-code-templates skill-share
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/skill-share/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates --path cli-tool/components/skills/utilities/skill-share
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/skill-share/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/HEAD/cli-tool/components/skills/utilities/skill-share

## When to use it
- scaffold a standardized folder structure for a new agent skill
- verify `SKILL.md` headers and formatting before distribution
- bundle skill directories into a single zip archive
- notify team channels in Slack about newly generated tools

## Example prompts
- Create a skill called pdf-analyzer and announce it in our Slack channel
- Generate a structured template for api-linter with scripts and assets folders
- Validate the SKILL.md metadata and package the skill into a zip
