# site-structure-optimizer

A skill that plans site structure and untangles internal linking: page hierarchy, URLs, hub clusters, orphan pages. It returns a structure score out of 100.

## What it does

The skill runs at two altitudes. `architecture` mode designs the whole layout: page hierarchy, navigation, URL taxonomy, hub-and-spoke clusters, and a Mermaid site map that makes orphans and link islands visible. `linking` mode works on the links inside an existing layout — it builds the link graph, checks anchor-text distribution, looks at authority flow, and hands back a prioritized source/target/anchor plan.

Pick the mode with `--mode`, or let the skill infer it from your wording. When a request covers both a restructure and the links, it runs `architecture` first and then hands off to `linking` instead of interleaving the two.

For a local crawl there is a helper script: `python3 "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/connectors/crawl.py" <url>` returns the page list and link graph, and piping that into `linkgraph.py` computes orphans, click depth, and internal PageRank. Without a connected crawler or SEO tool, every step still works manually from a page list you provide. External backlinks, XML sitemaps, and indexation are out of scope — those belong to `offsite-signal-analyzer` and `technical-seo-checker`.

# Site Structure Optimizer

Works one lever of site structure at two altitudes. **Architecture mode** designs the whole-site information architecture — page hierarchy, navigation, URL taxonomy, hub/spoke topic clusters, link topology — and renders Mermaid site maps that make orphans and link islands visible. **Linking mode** optimizes the links inside an existing structure — link graph, authority flow, anchor text, orphan disposition — and delivers a prioritized source/target/anchor plan. Both emit a **structure score /100** and a handoff summary.
