## What it does

This skill covers building and verifying Stripe payments: one-off charges, subscriptions, webhook handling, refunds. Server-side authorization gets its own section, along with retry boundaries — amounts, currencies and IDs have to come from server policy, never from client parameters.

Three flows are laid out: Hosted Checkout, Payment Intents for a custom UI, and Setup Intents for saving a payment method. A list of webhook events follows (`payment_intent.succeeded`, `customer.subscription.updated`, `charge.refunded` and others), plus Python snippets. The skill is a single file with no bundled playbook or production wrapper, so it tells you to inspect the installed Stripe SDK and the pinned API version first.

You need an explicitly authorized Stripe test account. The test secret key and the webhook signing secret are separate values; both load from the project's secret mechanism and neither should be printed. The snippets are integration sketches — reading the skill authorizes no live payment, refund or customer update on its own.

## Requirements
- Works with: Stripe

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill stripe-integration -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/stripe-integration/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/stripe-integration/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill stripe-integration -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/stripe-integration/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill stripe-integration -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/stripe-integration/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills stripe-integration
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/stripe-integration/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill stripe-integration -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --path skills/stripe-integration
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/stripe-integration/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill stripe-integration -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- take a card payment with Stripe Checkout
- set up recurring subscription billing
- receive and verify Stripe webhooks
- issue a refund on a charge
- handle SCA for European payments

## Example prompts
- Add Stripe Checkout for a one-time purchase, pull the amount from the server-side order
- Write a webhook handler for `payment_intent.succeeded` with signature verification
- Check how this project handles Stripe refunds

# Stripe Integration

Implement and verify Stripe checkout, subscriptions, webhooks and refunds with explicit server-side authorization and retry boundaries.

## Do not use this skill when

- The task is unrelated to stripe integration
- You need a different domain or tool outside this scope

## Instructions

- Clarify goals, constraints, and required inputs.
- Apply relevant best practices and validate outcomes.
- Provide actionable steps and verification.
- Inspect the installed Stripe SDK and pinned API/webhook version. This single-file skill has no bundled playbook or production wrapper.

## Use this skill when

- Implementing payment processing in web/mobile applications
- Setting up subscription billing systems
- Handling one-time payments and recurring charges
- Processing refunds and disputes
- Managing customer payment methods
- Implementing SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) for European payments
- Building marketplace payment flows with Stripe Connect

## Core Concepts

### 1. Payment Flows
**Checkout Session (Hosted)**
- Stripe-hosted payment page
- Reduced direct card-data handling
- Fastest implementation
- Supports one-time and recurring payments

**Payment Intents (Custom UI)**
- Full control over payment UI
- Uses Stripe.js/Elements to avoid handling raw card data directly
- More complex implementation
- Better customization options

**Setup Intents (Save Payment Methods)**
- Collect payment method without charging
- Used for subscriptions and future payments
- Requires customer confirmation

### 2. Webhooks
**Critical Events:**
- `payment_intent.succeeded`: Payment completed
- `payment_intent.payment_failed`: Payment failed
- `customer.subscription.updated`: Subscription changed
- `customer.subscription.deleted`: Subscription canceled
- `charge.refunded`: Refund processed
- `invoice.payment_succeeded`: Subscription payment successful

### 3. Subscriptions
**Components:**
- **Product**: What you're selling
- **Price**: How much and how often
- **Subscription**: Customer's recurring payment
- **Invoice**: Generated for each billing cycle

### 4. Customer Management
- Create and manage customer records
- Store multiple payment methods
- Track customer metadata
- Manage billing details
