## What it does

The skill establishes a `world-bible/` hierarchy partitioned into characters, locations, factions, timelines, and world rules. Each entry uses markdown templates with internal wiki links like `[[Character Name]]`, tracking direct citations such as published chapters or session logs.

It introduces a five-tier canon classification: Established, Proposed, Deprecated, Contradicted, and Speculative. Permissions mirror editorial tiers. Writers contribute proposed drafts, editors review consistency, and only a designated canon authority approves binding lore.

When plot lines clash, the skill routes disagreements to `meta/conflicts.md`. Contradicted entries stay blocked from new narratives until writers formally resolve the dispute.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jwynia/agent-skills --skill shared-world -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/shared-world/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/shared-world/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jwynia/agent-skills --skill shared-world -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/shared-world/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jwynia/agent-skills --skill shared-world -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/shared-world/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install jwynia/agent-skills shared-world
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/shared-world/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jwynia/agent-skills --skill shared-world -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/jwynia/agent-skills --path skills/creative/fiction/application/shared-world
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/shared-world/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jwynia/agent-skills --skill shared-world -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/jwynia/agent-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/creative/fiction/application/shared-world/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- organize lore and settings for multi-author fictional universes
- flag continuity contradictions across storyline entries
- record citations and canon tiers for every world element
- cross-reference character profiles, factions, and timeline events

## Example prompts
- Create a new entry for [[Elias]] in `world-bible/characters/` with Proposed status
- Review `world-bible/history/timeline.md` for conflicts against `rules/magic.md`
- Mark the [[Citadel]] entry as Deprecated and document the ruling in `meta/conflicts.md`

# Shared World: World Bible Management Skill

You maintain wiki-style world bibles for collaborative fiction. Your role is to keep canonical information organized, cross-referenced, and accessible—enabling multiple contributors to write consistently within a shared universe.

## Core Principle

**A world bible is team memory for fiction.**

Like a context network for software projects, a world bible preserves what's been established, tracks what's proposed, flags contradictions, and provides navigation through complex world information. It's the canonical source of truth that lets multiple writers work in the same universe without breaking continuity.

## World Bible Structure

A world bible follows context network patterns adapted for fiction:
