# setup-notifications-via-wecom

Sets up a WeCom group bot webhook and sends technical status messages through it. Useful when a backup, sync or cron job should report on its own.

## What it does

The skill handles two things: one-time webhook setup and message sending. It first checks `~/.config/setup-notifications-via-wecom/config.json` and skips configuration if `webhook_url` is already there. The URL comes from the WeCom group bot settings and lives outside the skill bundle so it survives updates. A test message confirms connectivity.

The actual HTTP call is made by `scripts/send_wecom.py`, run with `uv run --no-project python`. Before sending, the skill reads `recipient_scope`: a `self` target goes out automatically, `others` waits for human confirmation, and a missing or invalid label fails as a configuration error. Matching webhook URLs only prove the same endpoint, not who the recipient is, so when a new observation conflicts with the stored `self` label, that single send pauses until the group and audience are verified.

A second part is message wording. The first line states what happened. State is kept apart from the delta of the current run, and every count is labelled with what it counts. Templates cover backup completion, alerts and routine status updates. Alerts fire on symptoms rather than causes, and only when the recipient can act. For an existing Alibaba Cloud SLS notification pipeline there is an adapter in `references/sls-recurring-notifications.md`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daymade/claude-code-skills --skill setup-notifications-via-wecom -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/setup-notifications-via-wecom/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/setup-notifications-via-wecom/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daymade/claude-code-skills --skill setup-notifications-via-wecom -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/setup-notifications-via-wecom/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daymade/claude-code-skills --skill setup-notifications-via-wecom -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/setup-notifications-via-wecom/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install daymade/claude-code-skills setup-notifications-via-wecom
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/setup-notifications-via-wecom/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daymade/claude-code-skills --skill setup-notifications-via-wecom -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/daymade/claude-code-skills --path setup-notifications-via-wecom
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/setup-notifications-via-wecom/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daymade/claude-code-skills --skill setup-notifications-via-wecom -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/daymade/claude-code-skills/tree/HEAD/setup-notifications-via-wecom/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- send a backup completion report to a WeCom group
- configure a bot webhook and confirm it responds
- separate current totals from the delta of one run
- label each counter so a bare "session" is not ambiguous
- wire notifications into an existing Alibaba Cloud SLS pipeline

## Example prompts
- set up the WeCom webhook and send a test message
- send a WeCom report when the backup sync finishes
- write an alert for the failed cron job and post it to the group

# Setup Notifications via WeCom

## Overview

This skill helps you send clear, unambiguous technical notifications through a WeCom group bot webhook.
Use the setup and sending workflows below:

1. **One-time setup**: store the webhook URL, test connectivity, and create a reusable sender script.
2. **Send messages**: craft messages that distinguish state from delta, define every number, and avoid
   the misleading patterns that made earlier backup-sync notifications confusing.

The bundled script `scripts/send_wecom.py` handles the actual HTTP call, using the host network configuration. Recipient identity is explicit configuration:
`self` may send automatically; `others` requires human confirmation; missing identity fails fast.

When integrating an existing Alibaba Cloud SLS notification pipeline or a recurring
digest, read [the SLS adapter guide](references/sls-recurring-notifications.md).
Reuse the project's sampler, scheduler and SLS sync owner; the bundled sender
continues to own ordinary plain-text sends.

## When to Use This Skill

Trigger this skill when the user:
- Says "send a WeCom notification", "企业微信通知", "企微机器人", or "webhook 通知".
- Wants to set up alerting for a backup, sync, cron job, or service status.
- Asks you to write a status/alert message and you need to make it clear and unambiguous.
- Mentions a message was confusing or misleading and wants it fixed.

## Quick Start: Configure the Webhook

1. **Check existing config**:
   ```bash
   cat ~/.config/setup-notifications-via-wecom/config.json
   ```
   If it exists and contains `webhook_url`, skip to [Send a Message](#send-a-message).

2. **Get the webhook URL** from the WeCom group bot settings. It looks like:
   ```
````

The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 5b29e6912bd038c8 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
