## What it does

The skill verifies whether `codemap` is installed via `codemap -help` and runs the appropriate Homebrew or Scoop installation if it is missing. Once the binary is present, it tests the CLI with `codemap .` before editing any project files.

It prompts you to pick one of three storage levels: shared project config in `CLAUDE.md`, local untracked rules in `CLAUDE.local.md`, or global user settings under `~/.claude/`. The workflow writes navigation instructions into the markdown file, explains flags like `--diff` or `--deps`, and adds `.codemap/` to `.gitignore`.

For automated context, the assistant registers hooks inside `settings.json`. The default `session-start` hook inspects branch changes and `git status` immediately when a session begins. Without Homebrew or Scoop available in your terminal, automatic binary installation will fail.
