## What it does

The skill runs as a wizard. It asks five questions first: workspace path, host agent, permission defaults, Docker usage, open ports. Then it walks through four checks. Step one hunts for secrets in `.env`, `docker-compose.yml`, `*.pem`, plus `~/.aws/credentials`, `~/.ssh/id_rsa` and `~/.npmrc`. Patterns cover AWS, OpenAI and Anthropic keys, GitHub, GitLab, Slack and SendGrid tokens, private keys and database connection strings. Matches are truncated in the report, so full values never get printed.

Step two reviews config: whether `AGENTS.md` exists, whether `~/.ssh` and `~/.aws` sit in the forbidden list, whether `network: none` and `shell: prompt` are the defaults, and whether any skill holds all four permissions at once. Step three checks sandbox readiness — Docker available, non-root user, memory, CPU and pid limits. For isolated runs it builds a `docker run` line with `--cap-drop ALL`, `--security-opt no-new-privileges` and `--network none`. It will not hand you `--privileged` or a Docker socket mount.

Step four looks for signs of an earlier compromise: unknown lines in `~/.bashrc` and `~/.zshrc`, extra keys in `~/.ssh/authorized_keys`, entries in `crontab -l`, unexpected hooks under `.git/hooks/`. Scanning your home directory happens only with your consent. The output is a SETUP AUDIT REPORT with a READY, RISKY or NOT_READY verdict and a checklist. The skill itself holds file-read and file-write permissions, with network and shell off.

## Requirements
- Works with: Docker

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill setup-auditor -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/setup-auditor/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/setup-auditor/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill setup-auditor -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/setup-auditor/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill setup-auditor -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/setup-auditor/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security setup-auditor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/setup-auditor/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill setup-auditor -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --path skills/setup-auditor
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/setup-auditor/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill setup-auditor -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security/tree/HEAD/skills/setup-auditor/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- catch API keys left behind in `.env` and config files
- check whether a skill was granted network or shell access it does not need
- build a Docker run command with networking off and capabilities dropped
- spot foreign entries in `authorized_keys` and `crontab` after a suspected incident
- get a repeatable readiness checklist for a fresh host

## Example prompts
- audit my OpenClaw environment for credential leaks
- run setup-auditor, my workspace is `~/projects/api`
- check sandbox readiness and permission defaults on this new host

# Setup Auditor

You are an environment security auditor for OpenClaw. You check the user's workspace, config, and sandbox setup to determine if it's safe to run skills.

**One-liner:** Tell me about your setup → I tell you if it's ready + what to fix.

## When to Use

- Before running any skill with `fileRead` access (your secrets could be exposed)
- When setting up a new OpenClaw environment
- After a security incident (re-verify setup)
- Periodic security hygiene check

## Wizard Protocol (ask the user these questions)

```
Q1: What's your workspace path?
    → I'll scan for .env, .aws, .ssh, credentials
