# service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure

Reads the master Incident Management switch on a Salesforce ITSM org and flips it on request. Saves you a trip through Setup when the org-level toggle has to change.

## What it does

This skill handles the org-wide Incident Management master preference. It starts by fetching the current value, then presents a before-and-after pair and waits for an explicit yes. The write happens only after that. Turning the master on also brings its sub-features up server-side, so one operation covers the whole set.

Writes are idempotent: when the live state already equals the requested one, the skill skips the change entirely. Reads go through `dispatch_readonly`, writes through `dispatch`, and the server rejects mutations on the read-only route. You must state the direction. Say “toggle” with no enable or disable and the skill asks rather than guessing.

Before the first call, wire up the org and the MCP client: `headless-360` activated in Setup, an External Client App carrying the `mcp_api` and `refresh_token` scopes, API 67.0 or newer. Miss any of these and the first call comes back 401, 403 or 404. The skill prints the raw response and stops there. Sub-toggles such as Email-to-Incident or the Incident Priority Matrix are outside its scope.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/service-itsm-incident-mgmt-configure/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn on Incident Management org-wide
- check what the master toggle is set to right now
- disable the feature without clicking through Setup
- re-run the change safely when the state already matches

## Example prompts
- Show the current Incident Management state for this org
- Enable Incident Management at the org level
- Turn off the Incident Management master toggle

# Configuring ITSM Incident Management (master toggle)

Read and toggle the **master Incident Management** setting on a Salesforce ITSM org. This is the org-level switch that turns Incident Management on or off. Enabling it also brings up its sub-features on the server side, so a full enablement is a single operation on the master.

Writes are **idempotent** (skipped when the current status already matches the requested state), the skill always **reads before it writes**, and an explicit **confirm-to-write** checkpoint is required before any mutation.

## What this skill controls

| Preference (Setup UI label) | In scope |
|-----------------------------|----------|
| Incident Management enablement (master) | Yes — read and toggle |
| Default Field Validations for Incidents, Auto Closure of Child Incidents, Email-to-Incident sub-toggles, Incident Priority Matrix, Problem/Change/Case Management, ITSM External Client App setup | No |
