## What it does

This skill guides Service Cloud ITSM through the activation steps for CMDB across sandbox and production instances. It sequentially executes the prerequisite pipeline. First, it verifies the org license by querying `PermissionSetLicense`. Then, it initiates tenant provisioning and enables the `service-cloud-itsm-cmdb-integration` feature flag.

Communication runs directly through the `headless-360` MCP server via HTTP dispatch tools. The agent avoids handling static credentials. Instead, it reads the target environment from the active OAuth session. If the org lacks the required `ITSrvcsCnfgMgmnt` license, the process halts immediately because APIs cannot provision an unassigned SKU.

This automation covers org-level feature availability. It deliberately excludes user permission set assignments and bundle deployments. Those tasks require follow-up operations.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-configure/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- Verify CMDB license availability on the target Salesforce org
- Trigger and monitor tenant provisioning for Service Cloud ITSM
- Resolve 403 errors returned by Connect API endpoints
- Activate the service-cloud-itsm-cmdb-integration feature flag

## Example prompts
- Enable CMDB for the active Service Cloud ITSM org.
- Provision the CMDB tenant and check our org license.
- Resolve the 403 functionality not enabled error for CMDB.

# Enable the CMDB Feature (Service Cloud ITSM)

Takes an org from "CMDB off" to "CMDB feature enabled" by walking the first three layers of the
CMDB prerequisite stack in order. Every call runs through the **Salesforce-hosted Headless-360 MCP
server** (server key `headless-360`) via its four meta-tools (`discover`, `describe`,
`dispatch_readonly`, `dispatch`). The org is derived from the OAuth JWT bound to the current MCP
session — the skill never handles an org id, alias, or credentials — so this works identically
against **production** and sandbox with no per-user MCP install.

This skill covers **Layers 0–2**. User access (Layer 3) and content bundles (Layer 4) are separate
skills — see the end of this file.

## The gate this skill lifts

Every CMDB Connect API checks:

```text
orgHasCMDBEnabled = orgHasCMDBPermission (org perm ITSrvcsCnfgMgmnt)  &&  OrgPreferences.CMDBEnabled
```

Until `orgHasCMDBEnabled` is true, CMDB APIs return `403 FUNCTIONALITY_NOT_ENABLED`. `CMDBEnabled`
