## What it does

The skill finishes CMDB setup: it reads the live bundle catalog, resolves the exact version of the base bundle and fires the install through the Connect API `bundleInstallation`. Every call goes through the `headless-360` MCP server and its four tools — `discover`, `describe`, `dispatch_readonly` for reads and `dispatch` for writes. The org comes from the OAuth session bound to the MCP connection, so the skill never touches an org id, alias or credentials.

Order matters here. The bundle APIs sit behind the `orgHasCMDBEnabled` gate, and until the CMDB feature is on they answer `403 FUNCTIONALITY_NOT_ENABLED`. So run this after the feature is enabled. The same 403 has a second cause — the running user has no CMDB access, because those reads also check their own permissions. The skill tells the two apart by checking feature status, then routes you either to enabling CMDB or to assigning permission sets.

The skill does not guess a version. It reads `latestVersion` from `bundles/details` and passes that string into the install verbatim, character for character. If the base bundle already sits at the latest version, there is nothing left to do. Optional add-on bundles, permission assignment and CMDB record work are outside its scope.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-itsm-agentic-setup-cmdb-bundle-deploy -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- install the CMDB Foundation base bundle into production or a sandbox
- check whether the CMDB feature is on before installing anything
- work out why a bundle install returns 403
- get the current base bundle version instead of guessing the string
- confirm the base content is already installed and nothing is left to do

## Example prompts
- install CMDB Foundation in this org
- check whether CMDB is enabled and deploy the base bundle
- the bundle install returned 403 — is the feature off or am I missing access?
