## What it does

The skill replaces the manual clicking through Experience Builder. It retrieves the site bundle — LWR `DigitalExperienceBundle` or Aura `ExperienceBundle` — detects the type from marker files, then patches every `sfdc_cms__themeLayout/*/content.json` to insert the `experience_messaging:embeddedMessaging` component into the footer. Footer placement makes the widget a floating overlay on every page.

The bundle is then staged into `force-app`, deployed asynchronously with status polling, the site is published, and the guest URL gets a smoke test. The operation is idempotent: an existing component is updated in place with its `id` preserved, so re-running with different ESD coordinates cleanly overwrites the attributes.

You need `sf` 2.0.0 or newer, `curl` 7.0.0, `jq` 1.6.0 and `python3` 3.10.0, plus the site name, `deploymentName`, `scrtUrl`, `siteEndpoint` and the URL path prefix. If an automated step fails, the skill falls back to a manual Experience Builder flow with a deep link — and the widget should not be called live until the guest URL returns a successful response. Creating the `EmbeddedServiceConfig` or the messaging channel is out of scope; separate skills handle those.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill service-digital-engagement-messaging-site-integrate -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- embed the MIAW chat widget on an Experience Cloud site without Experience Builder clicks
- patch the theme `content.json` files and place the component in the footer site-wide
- deploy and publish the site bundle, then smoke-test the guest URL
- update coordinates of an already installed widget while keeping its `id`
- scaffold missing LWR template routes that break the deploy

## Example prompts
- embed the Embedded Messaging widget on my Experience Cloud site `mySite`
- patch the LWR bundle and put `experience_messaging:embeddedMessaging` in the footer
- deploy and publish the site, then verify the guest URL
