## What it does

The skill calls Sent MCP tools: `numbers.lookup` for number capabilities, plus `dashboard.messages_sent`, `dashboard.deliverability` and `dashboard.contacts` for aggregate numbers. Reach for it when you want message volume, a delivery percentage, the contact count, or a period-over-period comparison.

Auth runs through client-managed OAuth 2.1/PKCE. The skill never asks for or prints tokens, API keys, authorization headers or secrets. `numbers.lookup` is state-changing and non-idempotent even though it sends nothing, and it is billable: 1000 calls per authenticated account scope per UTC day, shared across acting profiles, resetting at 00:00 UTC. On a quota error, do not loop retries or swap profiles.

Know what each tool actually returns. `dashboard.deliverability` is an all-time percentage, not a date-bounded rate, and `dashboard.contacts` is a single snapshot rather than growth over time. Keep any comparison on the same organization, acting profile, timezone and aggregation grain. When you need message-level records or a root-cause diagnosis, that is a different skill — `messaging-performance-analyzer`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sentdm/sent-plugin --skill sent-analytics -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/sent-analytics/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/sent-analytics/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sentdm/sent-plugin --skill sent-analytics -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/sent-analytics/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sentdm/sent-plugin --skill sent-analytics -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/sent-analytics/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install sentdm/sent-plugin sent-analytics
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/sent-analytics/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sentdm/sent-plugin --skill sent-analytics -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/sentdm/sent-plugin --path skills/sent-analytics
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/sent-analytics/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add sentdm/sent-plugin --skill sent-analytics -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/sentdm/sent-plugin/tree/HEAD/skills/sent-analytics/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- check a phone number's capabilities and type before outreach
- see how many messages were delivered and read in a window
- pull the account-wide deliverability percentage
- get the current total contact count
- compare send volume across two periods in one timezone

## Example prompts
- Look up the capabilities of +15551234567 in Sent
- How many messages were delivered and read over the last 7 days?
- What's the current deliverability rate and total contact count?

# Sent Analytics

Use `numbers.lookup`, `dashboard.messages_sent`, `dashboard.deliverability`, and `dashboard.contacts` for analytics and paid external number lookup. `numbers.lookup` is state-changing and non-idempotent, even though it does not send a message.

## Establish context

Use client-managed OAuth 2.1/PKCE. Never request or expose a token, API key, authorization header, client ID, or secret. Identify the active organization and Sender Profile when the client exposes them.

Minimize sensitive output: mask phone numbers, aggregate where possible, and omit contact, KYC, account, and message-body data that is not needed to answer the question.

An organization grant may select an owned Sender Profile with the tool schema's optional `profileId`; omit it to act as the authenticated account. Validate ownership with `sender_profiles.list` or `sender_profiles.get`, and use the same selector for preflight reads, mutations, and follow-up reads. Profile grants cannot use this selector. Reauthorize for a different organization or a profile outside the grant. Never invent scope fields or request credentials.

## Look up a number

Use `numbers.lookup` to obtain available capability, formatting, type, or routing signals for the supplied number. A lookup describes capability; it is not evidence of opt-in, consent, ownership, identity, or permission to message. State that distinction whenever the result could be used to plan outreach. The paid lookup allowance is 1000 calls per authenticated account scope per UTC day, shared across acting profiles and resetting at 00:00 UTC. Respect quota errors; do not rotate profiles or retry in a loop. Temporary quota-check failure can allow lookup through, which does not make it free.

## Query dashboard metrics

1. Resolve a date range, timezone, and aggregation grain for `dashboard.messages_sent`. It counts delivered/read outbound SMS and WhatsApp in supported preset or custom windows, using 15-minute, hourly, or daily buckets; do not describe it as all queued sends or RCS volume.
