## What it does

The skill walks the agent through the send step by step. It asks for recipient, subject and body, then reads the sender domain to pick a provider and request the right credentials. The actual send runs on Python over SMTP.

Provider handling is built in: Gmail, Outlook and Office 365, QQ Mail, 163 and 126, Aliyun, SendGrid, Mailgun. Each entry says what goes in the password field. Gmail wants an App Password with two-factor authentication already on, QQ, 163 and 126 want an SMTP authorization code, SendGrid wants an API key with the literal username `apikey`. Any other domain falls back to custom SMTP, where you supply server, port, username and password.

Markdown in the body is detected and converted to styled HTML, so you don't pass the content type by hand. Attachments and template files with variable substitution are supported too. You need Python 3.8 or newer and markdown 3.4.0 or newer. If no sender is given, the skill falls back to `agent_skill_test@126.com` and asks for that mailbox's authorization code — useless on someone else's account, so name your own address up front.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wangyendt/wayne-skills --skill send-email -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/send-email/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/send-email/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wangyendt/wayne-skills --skill send-email -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/send-email/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wangyendt/wayne-skills --skill send-email -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/send-email/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install wangyendt/wayne-skills send-email
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/send-email/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wangyendt/wayne-skills --skill send-email -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/wangyendt/wayne-skills --path send-email
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/send-email/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wangyendt/wayne-skills --skill send-email -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wangyendt/wayne-skills/tree/HEAD/send-email/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- send a report email from a script
- attach several files to one message
- turn Markdown into an HTML email without hand-coding markup
- fill a template with variables before sending
- route mail through Gmail or a corporate Outlook account

## Example prompts
- Send an email to user@example.com with subject "Monthly Report" and body "Hi, the report is attached"
- Email team@example.com a notification, use report.md as the body
- Send from me@example.com and attach build.log and summary.csv

# Send Email

Send emails via SMTP using Python with support for plain text, HTML formatting, file attachments, and template-based emails.

## Key Features

- **Default Sender Email**: Automatically uses `agent_skill_test@126.com` when no sender is specified
- **Automatic Markdown to HTML**: Detects Markdown content and converts to beautifully styled HTML
- **Multiple Email Providers**: Supports Gmail, Outlook, QQ Mail, 163/126 Mail, and custom SMTP
- **File Attachments**: Attach multiple files to emails
- **Email Templates**: Use template files with variable substitution

## Interactive Email Sending Flow

This skill guides you through the email sending process step by step.

### Step 1: Collect Basic Email Information

Ask the user for the following required information. If any is missing, prompt the user to provide it:

| Information | Description | Example |
|-------------|-------------|---------|
| **Recipient** (`--to`) | Email address to send to | `user@example.com` |
| **Subject** (`--subject`) | Email subject line | `Monthly Report` |
| **Content** (`--content`) | Email body text or HTML | `Hello, here is your report.` |

**IMPORTANT - Default Sender Email Behavior**:

**If the user does NOT specify a sender email in their initial request, AUTOMATICALLY use `agent_skill_test@126.com` as the default sender. DO NOT ask the user which email to send from.**

Only ask the user for a different sender email if they explicitly mention wanting to use their own email address.

When using the default `agent_skill_test@126.com`, proceed directly to Step 2 and ask for the 126 email authorization code.

### Step 2: Identify Email Provider and Collect Credentials

Based on the sender's email address domain, identify the email provider and request the appropriate credentials.

#### Email Provider Detection

```
@gmail.com, @googlemail.com   → Gmail
@outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, @office365.com → Outlook/Office 365
@qq.com, @vip.qq.com          → QQ Mail
@163.com, @126.com            → NetEase Mail
@aliyun.com, @aliyun-inc.com  → Aliyun Mail
@sendgrid.net, @*.sendgrid.net → SendGrid
@*.mailgun.org                → Mailgun
Other domains                  → Custom SMTP (ask for server, port, username, password)
```

#### Provider-Specific Credential Requirements

**Gmail (@gmail.com, @googlemail.com)**

The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 2e3aabc7fcb5877a tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
