## What it does

This skill covers Goldsky secrets: named objects that hold credentials for pipeline sinks. The agent creates one from a connection string or JSON, lists what exists, rotates a password and deletes what is no longer needed. Supported targets include PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, S3, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, SQS, OpenSearch and webhooks.

The workflow is short. `goldsky secret list` confirms authentication and shows current secrets. Paste a connection string like `postgres://USER:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT/DATABASE` and the agent parses it instead of asking questions. Neon, Supabase and PlanetScale get their own format notes. Then `goldsky secret create` with a name following `PROJECT_PROVIDER`, and a final list call to verify.

On safety the skill is blunt: a value passed through `--value` lands in shell history and shows up in the process list while the command runs. So it advises omitting `--value` and letting the CLI prompt for the connection string interactively, keeping inline values for non-interactive scripting. It also says never to echo the output of `goldsky secret reveal` back into the conversation. Rotation goes through `goldsky secret update` under the same name — deleting a live secret to change a password is the wrong move. If you have no database yet, `goldsky hosted-sink create --type postgres` provisions a managed Postgres, though it needs the Scale plan or above.

## Requirements
- Works with: PostgreSQL, Supabase

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill secrets -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/secrets/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/secrets/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill secrets -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/secrets/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill secrets -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/secrets/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install goldsky-io/goldsky-agent secrets
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/secrets/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill secrets -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --path skills/secrets
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/secrets/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add goldsky-io/goldsky-agent --skill secrets -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/goldsky-io/goldsky-agent/tree/HEAD/skills/secrets/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- create a Goldsky secret from a PostgreSQL connection string
- list the secrets already set up in a project
- rotate a password without deleting the secret
- remove a secret the pipeline no longer uses
- wire a sink to Neon, Supabase or ClickHouse

## Example prompts
- create a Goldsky secret for Postgres, I'll paste the connection string next
- list my secrets and check that I'm logged in
- rotate the password on TRADEWATCH_NEON, keep the same name

# Goldsky Secrets Management

Create and manage secrets for pipeline sink credentials. **Rotate existing credentials with `goldsky secret update`, preserving the secret name.** Do not delete an in-use secret to update it; see [Rotating Credentials](#rotating-credentials).

## Agent Instructions

**Handling credentials safely:** a credential passed inline via `--value '...'` is written to the user's shell history and is visible in the process list while the command runs. Whenever possible, omit `--value` on `goldsky secret create` and let the CLI prompt for the connection string interactively (nothing sensitive touches argv or history). Reserve inline `--value` for non-interactive scripting, and never echo a revealed secret (`goldsky secret reveal`) back into the conversation.

When this skill is invoked, follow this streamlined workflow:

### Step 1: Verify Login + List Existing Secrets

Run `goldsky secret list` to confirm authentication and show existing secrets.

**If authentication fails:** Invoke the `auth-setup` skill first.

### Step 2: Determine Intent Quickly

**Skip unnecessary questions.** If the user's intent is clear from context, proceed directly:

- User says "create a postgres secret" → Go straight to credential collection
- User pastes a connection string → Parse it immediately (see Connection String Parsing)
- User mentions a specific provider (Neon, Supabase, etc.) → Use provider-specific guidance

**Only use AskUserQuestion if intent is genuinely unclear.**

### Step 3: Connection String Parsing (Preferred for PostgreSQL)

**If user provides a connection string, parse it directly instead of asking questions.**

PostgreSQL connection string format:

```
