# seasonal-and-moment-marketing

This skill maps the seasonal and holiday moments that actually fit a brand, gates them for fit and authenticity, and tiers them by weight. Useful before Black Friday and holiday planning.

## What it does

The skill builds an annual moment calendar instead of a list of every internet holiday. It reads `brand-profile` and `audience-research` first, then works through the DATES framework: seasons, retail anchors, relevant awareness months, industry events, milestones. Every moment passes two gates — fit with brand, audience and goals, plus an authenticity check.

Moments then land in three tiers. Commercial and fun ones can go ahead; tier two needs a real alignment with the topic; tier three covers cultural and solemn dates where respect without promotion is the only option. Big commercial moments get routed to `campaign-and-launch-planning` and paid, the reactive half of the calendar goes to `trend-jacking`, and the skill sets lead times and feeds `content-calendar`. Publishing runs through `scheduling-and-queue` into WoopSocial.

On timing, the skill suggests 8–12 weeks for major moments and 2–4 for minor ones. It leaves roughly half the calendar open for reactive topics. Joining identity or cause moments without year-round standing is off the table — moment selection and authenticity calls stay with a human.

## When to use it
- build an annual moment calendar for one brand
- filter out holidays that do not fit the brand
- decide whether to post on an awareness day
- plan Black Friday content months ahead
- separate planned moments from reactive traffic

## Example prompts
- Build a year of moments from brand-profile and audience-research
- Run the DATES framework and tell me if Halloween fits us
- Lay out the BFCM plan: lead times, tiers, what goes to campaign

Big moments route to campaign-and-launch-planning + paid; the reactive half to trend-jacking.
WoopSocial schedules ahead -- it does not pick moments, judge authenticity, or run paid. Never

# seasonal-and-moment-marketing

The **annual moment-planning** skill — map the few moments that fit, gate them for **fit + authenticity**,
**tier** by weight, and **plan far ahead.** The planned counterpart to `trend-jacking`. The agent **plans**;
big commercial moments → `campaign-and-launch-planning`; **WoopSocial schedules the planned content ahead.**

## The POV: the few that fit, planned early — not every internet holiday
Brands fail the calendar two ways: **ignore it** (miss the tailwind of moments that already have attention) or
**blanket-post every "national [x] day"** (hollow, off-brand spam → sometimes backlash). The top-1% move:
**"not every holiday deserves a post, and not every brand deserves a voice in every conversation."** Pick the
**few that fit your brand + audience + commercial calendar**, tier them, and **plan in advance** — the
predictable counterpart to `trend-jacking`'s reactivity. The question is **"does this make sense for our
brand, audience, and goals?"** — *silence on the wrong day beats noise on the wrong topic.*

## Read these first
1. **brand-profile** — voice/identity/standing.
2. **audience-research** — what the audience cares about + when.
