## What it does

The skill coordinates parallel searches across enterprise repositories via Atlassian MCP tools. It defaults to Rovo Search using `search`, running semantic queries across Confluence and Jira together. When specific filters are needed, it switches to `searchConfluence` with CQL or `searchJiraIssuesUsingJql` with JQL.

Once matching items are identified, the skill retrieves full page content in Markdown using `getConfluenceContent`. When inspecting Jira tickets, `getJiraIssue` provides descriptions and status details, but omits comment bodies. Reading discussions requires a separate call to `listJiraIssueComments` via `executeRead` with pagination parameters.

Passing CQL or JQL syntax into the primary `search` tool breaks retrieval. It expects natural language. When structured syntax is supplied, the tool silently returns degraded results instead of throwing an error.

## Requirements
- Works with: Atlassian, Jira, Confluence

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add atlassian/atlassian-mcp-server --skill search-company-knowledge -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/search-company-knowledge/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/search-company-knowledge/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add atlassian/atlassian-mcp-server --skill search-company-knowledge -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/search-company-knowledge/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add atlassian/atlassian-mcp-server --skill search-company-knowledge -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/search-company-knowledge/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install atlassian/atlassian-mcp-server search-company-knowledge
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/search-company-knowledge/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add atlassian/atlassian-mcp-server --skill search-company-knowledge -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/atlassian/atlassian-mcp-server --path skills/search-company-knowledge
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/search-company-knowledge/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add atlassian/atlassian-mcp-server --skill search-company-knowledge -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- locate architectural documentation across Confluence and Jira
- retrieve full text guides on deployment and authentication
- investigate historical bugs and implementation details in Jira issues
- compile cited explanations from multiple internal knowledge bases

## Example prompts
- Explain our deployment process using internal company documentation.
- What do our Confluence docs and Jira tickets say about the billing system?
- Find everything about Stratus minions and provide sources.

# Search Company Knowledge

## Keywords
find information, search company knowledge, look up, what is, explain, company docs, internal documentation, Confluence search, Jira search, our documentation, internal knowledge, knowledge base, search for, tell me about, get information about, company systems, terminology, find everything about, what do we know about, deployment, authentication, infrastructure, processes, procedures, how to, how does, our systems, our processes, internal systems, company processes, technical documentation, engineering docs, architecture, configuration, search our docs, search internal docs, find in our docs

## Overview

Search across siloed company knowledge systems (Confluence, Jira, internal documentation) to find comprehensive answers to questions about internal concepts, systems, and terminology. This skill performs parallel searches across multiple sources and synthesizes results with proper citations.

**Use this skill when:** Users ask about internal company knowledge that might be documented in Confluence pages, Jira tickets, or internal documentation.

---

## Workflow

Follow this 5-step process to provide comprehensive, well-cited answers:

### Step 1: Identify Search Query

Extract the core search terms from the user's question.

**Examples:**
- User: "Find everything about Stratus minions" → Search: "Stratus minions"
- User: "What do we know about the billing system?" → Search: "billing system"
- User: "Explain our deployment process" → Search: "deployment process"

**Consider:**
- Main topic or concept
- Any specific system/component names
- Technical terms or jargon

---

### Step 2: Execute Parallel Search

Search across all available knowledge sources simultaneously for comprehensive coverage.

#### Option A: Cross-System Search (Recommended First)
