## What it does

Point the skill at one or more TikTok video URLs and it hands back a dataset with `id`, `text`, `authorUsername`, `diggCount`, `replyCount`, `createTime`, `isReply` and `parentCommentId`. Nested replies stay out unless you flip `includeReplies` on. Cap the volume with `maxItems`.

The bundled `scripts/run_actor.js` starts the `apidojo~tiktok-comments-scraper` actor, waits for it to finish and writes CSV or JSON for you. Two fallbacks exist: the Apify MCP server with the `apify:run-actor` tool, or plain REST calls where you keep the returned `RUN_ID` and poll the run status yourself.

\`APIFY_TOKEN` has to be present in the environment or a `.env` file, otherwise the script never starts. Videos with comments turned off or set to private come back empty, and a deleted video throws an error — drop that URL from the batch. Expect fewer comments than the app shows, because TikTok filters spam server-side.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add apidojo-io/apidojo-skills --skill scraping-tiktok-comments -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/scraping-tiktok-comments/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/scraping-tiktok-comments/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add apidojo-io/apidojo-skills --skill scraping-tiktok-comments -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/scraping-tiktok-comments/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add apidojo-io/apidojo-skills --skill scraping-tiktok-comments -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/scraping-tiktok-comments/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install apidojo-io/apidojo-skills scraping-tiktok-comments
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/scraping-tiktok-comments/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add apidojo-io/apidojo-skills --skill scraping-tiktok-comments -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/apidojo-io/apidojo-skills --path skills/primitives/scraping-tiktok-comments
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/scraping-tiktok-comments/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add apidojo-io/apidojo-skills --skill scraping-tiktok-comments -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/apidojo-io/apidojo-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/primitives/scraping-tiktok-comments/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- export every comment under a viral TikTok clip
- collect comment text and likes for sentiment work
- track what people say under a brand's posts
- grab reply threads together with their parent comments
- save a comment dataset as CSV for a spreadsheet

## Example prompts
- Scrape the comments on this TikTok video: `https://www.tiktok.com/@user/video/123456`
- Pull comments with `includeReplies: true` and save them to `2025-01-01_results.csv`
- Run `apidojo~tiktok-comments-scraper` on these URLs, 200 comments max

  "maxItems": 200,
  "includeReplies": false
}
```
