## What it does

The skill guides an agent through ByteDance's Seedance video model family on Scenario over MCP. Seedance uses a single unified model that infers its mode from the provided arguments rather than prompt text alone. Passing only a `prompt` triggers text-to-video, respecting `aspectRatio`. Supplying an `image` switches to image-to-video, while pairing it with `lastFrameImage` anchors both the beginning and the end of the shot.

Seedance provides no explicit parameters for seeds, masks, or camera trajectories. Camera movements and shot actions must be stated directly in the prompt. Identity and environment continuity rely on `referenceImages`, but this array is mutually exclusive with the `image` parameter. Mixing them in a single call fails immediately.

When modifying existing footage with `referenceVideos`, the tool requires setting `duration: -1`. Leaving duration on Auto can trigger billing for the full 30 second ceiling on version 2.5, which makes explicit duration values a safer choice on every run.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-seedance -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/scenario-seedance/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/scenario-seedance/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-seedance -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/scenario-seedance/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-seedance -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/scenario-seedance/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install scenario-labs/skills scenario-seedance
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/scenario-seedance/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-seedance -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills --path skills/scenario-seedance
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/scenario-seedance/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-seedance -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/scenario-seedance/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- generate video clips from text with specific aspect ratios
- animate a still image or interpolate motion between two frame anchors
- preserve character appearance or scene assets across shots with reference arrays
- extend existing footage or edit video without introducing cuts

## Example prompts
- Create a 21:9 text video where the camera pushes forward toward an abandoned lighthouse
- Animate image.png into a continuous take ending exactly on last_frame.png
- Extend @video1 by 15 seconds while maintaining the current lighting and character wardrobe

# Scenario Seedance Video

## Overview

Seedance, ByteDance's video family on Scenario, folds every mode below into one model that infers
which from your inputs, so the conditioning you pass decides more than prompt wording. Discover it
with `search` and treat `model_schema_get` as the contract: members ship side by side, agreeing on
the shape and disagreeing on every number.

Connection and the core loop: see the `scenario` skill in this repo; model-agnostic video work: the
`scenario-video` skill; choreography held across cuts from a storyboard: the
`scenario-seedance-storyboard` skill. If a sibling skill named here is missing from your available
skills, ask the user to install it (`npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill <name>`);
unattended, proceed from tool schemas and flag the gap.

## Quick reference

Mode follows from the inputs (names from the live schema):

| Mode         | Inputs                            | Behavior                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   |
