## What it does

The skill walks the agent through a Scenario pipeline. It uploads the best photo you have, then builds a fidelity checklist once — an inventory of label text, geometry, materials and colors. Every later check reuses that checklist instead of rebuilding it.

Two lanes cover most of the work. Deterministic tools handle the packshot: cutout, background, shadow, relight. The generative lane places the product in a scene with an instruction-editing model, one scene per run. Prompts are preserve-first: name the placement, the surface and the light, and quote the label copy from the checklist. Leave the text unstated and the model resolves the type however it likes.

The product itself is never generated. A text-prompted bottle ships the wrong label to a landing page, and no edit restores text that was never there. So the source is always a real photo, and finished shots go through a gate: up to 10 ids in `images`, the saved checklist in `text_inputs`, and a letter-by-letter read-back in `instruction`. Label drift hides at thumbnail size, which is why the gate is not optional. The skill leans on sibling Scenario skills (`scenario`, `scenario-image`, `scenario-image-editing`, `scenario-asset-analysis`, `scenario-video-ads`); if one is missing, ask the user to install it with `npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill <name>`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-product-shots -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/scenario-product-shots/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/scenario-product-shots/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-product-shots -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/scenario-product-shots/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-product-shots -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/scenario-product-shots/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install scenario-labs/skills scenario-product-shots
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/scenario-product-shots/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-product-shots -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills --path skills/scenario-product-shots
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/scenario-product-shots/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-product-shots -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/scenario-product-shots/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- produce a packshot on white, transparent or brand backgrounds
- place a product in a lifestyle scene without warping the label
- build angle and colorway sets for a catalog listing
- fix lighting, exposure and shadows on an existing shot
- verify letter by letter that on-pack text survived the render

## Example prompts
- Make a packshot from this product photo on a transparent background with a soft shadow
- Put this can on a wet slate counter, morning side light, label unchanged
- Run these four outputs through the checklist and tell me where the label text drifted

# Scenario Product Shots

## Overview

The product is never generated. A text-prompted bottle ships a wrong label to a landing page; every
credible shot starts from an uploaded photo of the real product, and fidelity is a gated check, not
a hope. Two lanes cover most work: deterministic packshot tools (cutout, background, shadow,
relight) and generative scene placement with an instruction-editing model. Connection and the core
loop: see the `scenario` skill. Edit-model contracts: `scenario-image`. Deterministic tools:
`scenario-image-editing`. Reading assets back: `scenario-asset-analysis`. Animating an approved
still into an ad: `scenario-video-ads`. If a sibling skill named here is missing from your available
skills, ask the user to install it (`npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill <name>`);
unattended, proceed from tool schemas and flag the gap.
