# scenario-meshy

The skill walks your agent through the Meshy toolchain on Scenario: mesh generation, retexturing, remeshing, UV unwrap, rigging and animation. Useful when you need GLB files for an engine.

## What it does

Meshy on Scenario is a toolchain, not a single model. Image-to-3D generators (Meshy 7 Image to 3D, Meshy 7 Multi Image to 3D, T2 Smart Topology), Meshy 6 Text-to-3D, and GLB-in, GLB-out utilities: Retexture, Remesh, UV Unwrap, Rigging, Animation. Work runs as a pipeline — generate a mesh, refine it, then rig or animate — and each stage is its own `model_run` whose `model` parameter takes the asset id the previous stage returned.

The skill fixes the call order: `search` to discover members, `model_schema_get` to read the contract. That matters because members disagree on defaults as basic as `enablePbr` (true on Image to 3D, false on Multi Image and Retexture). One silent rule runs through every texture control: an image beats text. On the generators `textureImage` overrides `texturePrompt`, and the text is ignored rather than blended. Retexture is stricter and takes exactly one of `textStylePrompt`, `imageStyle`, or `multiviewImage`.

Check plan access before you spend. `search` does not flag it, and Animation and Rigging sat above the entry plans at authoring time: if the animation member carries `requires_plan_upgrade`, the `model_run` fails with a 403 naming the plan after the earlier stage was already billed. So call `recommend` with `capability="3d23d"` first, and `dry_run` before batches. You need MCP access to Scenario to use it: connection and the core loop live in the `scenario` skill, viewer and engine import in `scenario-3d`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-meshy -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/scenario-meshy/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/scenario-meshy/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-meshy -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/scenario-meshy/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-meshy -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/scenario-meshy/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install scenario-labs/skills scenario-meshy
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/scenario-meshy/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-meshy -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills --path skills/scenario-meshy
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/scenario-meshy/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-meshy -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/scenario-meshy/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a 3D model from one photo or 1-4 view angles
- generate a mesh from a text prompt
- retexture an existing GLB without touching geometry
- cut polycount to a target number before UV unwrapping
- auto-rig a humanoid character and apply a library clip

## Example prompts
- Generate a mesh from the character photo: `model_run` with `image` and `poseMode: "t-pose"`, `dry_run=true` first
- UV unwrap this GLB, and if it has more than 44,000 faces run Remesh first
- Rig the character with `heightMeters: 1.8` and apply a clip by `actionId` from the Meshy library

# Scenario Meshy 3D

## Overview

Meshy on Scenario is a toolchain rather than one model: image-to-3D generators (Meshy 7 Image to 3D,
Meshy 7 Multi Image to 3D, Meshy T2 Smart Topology), Meshy 6 Text-to-3D, and GLB-in, GLB-out
utilities (Retexture, Remesh, UV Unwrap, Rigging, Animation). Work runs as a pipeline: generate a
mesh, refine it, then rig or animate, each stage its own `model_run` whose `model` parameter takes
the 3D asset id the previous stage returned. Discover members with `search` and treat
`model_schema_get` as the contract: members disagree on defaults as basic as `enablePbr` (true on
Image to 3D, false on Multi Image and Retexture at authoring time).

Connection and the core loop: see the `scenario` skill in this repo; model-agnostic 3D work (viewer,
capture, engine import): the `scenario-3d` skill. If a sibling skill named here is missing from your
available skills, ask the user to install it (`npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill <name>`);
unattended, proceed from tool schemas and flag the gap.

## Quick reference

Members and their traps (names from the live schema, caps at authoring time):

| Member              | Core input                        | Watch for                                                          |
| ------------------- | --------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| 7 Image to 3D       | `image` (1-4)                     | `ultraMode` takes a single image only; raw mesh by default         |
| 7 Multi Image to 3D | `image` (1-4, first = front view) | remeshes in-run; `savePreRemeshedModel` keeps the raw GLB          |
