## What it does

This skill directs image generation and instruction-based editing across xAI's Grok Imagine models on Scenario via MCP. It automates calls to `search`, `model_schema_get`, and `model_run`. The workflow selects the mode from your input: leaving `referenceImages` empty triggers standard text-to-image, while passing up to three asset IDs shifts the model into editing.

The family includes Image, Quality, and 2.0 variants. They accept prompts up to 10000 characters, support aspect ratios from 20:9 to 9:20, and output 1 to 10 variations in 1k or 2k resolutions. Neither inpainting masks nor negative prompts exist in this family. Its main advantage is legible typography. Quoting exact text strings inside the prompt prevents the model from hallucinating rogue labels.

Edits ignore the `aspectRatio` setting entirely and preserve source proportions, which means you must reframe assets prior to editing. The skill also requires the core `scenario` skill to handle asset uploads and MCP connections.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-grok-imagine-image -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/scenario-grok-imagine-image/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/scenario-grok-imagine-image/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-grok-imagine-image -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/scenario-grok-imagine-image/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-grok-imagine-image -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/scenario-grok-imagine-image/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install scenario-labs/skills scenario-grok-imagine-image
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/scenario-grok-imagine-image/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-grok-imagine-image -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills --path skills/scenario-grok-imagine-image
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/scenario-grok-imagine-image/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-grok-imagine-image -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/scenario-grok-imagine-image/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- generate posters or packaging with legible typography
- edit images via text instructions using up to three reference files
- render wide banners or vertical assets up to 20:9 and 9:20
- batch up to 10 variations at 1k or 2k resolution

## Example prompts
- Generate a product poster with the title 'LUMEN' in bold text using Grok Imagine 2.0 at 2k
- Edit asset_abc to add a clean label, keeping the bottle and background unchanged
- Create a 20:9 landscape banner with three variations using Grok Imagine Quality

# Scenario Grok Imagine Images

## Overview

Grok Imagine, xAI's image family on Scenario, puts generation and editing in every member: the same
model reads an empty `referenceImages` as text-to-image and a filled one as an edit, so the inputs
pick the mode and the member picks the tier. Members ship side by side, agreeing on the prompt
contract and disagreeing on knobs and price, so discover them with `search` and treat
`model_schema_get` as the contract. The Grok Imagine video members belong to the
`scenario-grok-imagine-video` skill.

Connection and the core loop: see the `scenario` skill; model-agnostic image work: the
`scenario-image` skill. If a sibling skill named here is missing from your available skills, ask the
user to install it (`npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill <name>`); unattended, proceed from
tool schemas and flag the gap.

## Quick reference

At authoring time (caps are per member, read the live schema):

| Member  | Aspect ratios                               | Notes                                                  |
| ------- | ------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| 2.0     | 14 values up to 20:9 and 9:20, default auto | adds `quality` (low, medium); strongest text and edits |
| Quality | same 14, default 1:1                        | fast at 2k; price near flat across variants            |
| Image   | 10 values, 2:1 through 1:2                  | cheapest per image                                     |

The rest is shared: `prompt` up to 10000 characters, `referenceImages` capped at 3, `numOutputs` 1
to 10, `resolution` at 1k or 2k. No seed, mask, negative prompt, or pixel sizing exists anywhere in
the family: size is ratio times resolution tier, and `aspectRatio` decides what is in frame, not
just the crop. In editing mode `aspectRatio` is ignored entirely and the output follows the source's
