## What it does

The skill documents the shared contract across the Claude Image family: one `prompt` for both generation and editing, `referenceImages` for the source picture, and an optional alpha `mask` for inpainting. Four members were live at authoring time: Claude Image 2.5 Flare (fast, everyday), Claude Image 2.5 Sunburst (precision for dense copy, diagrams and geometry-preserving edits), Claude Image 2, and Claude Image 1.5, the only one with a fidelity dial and ratio-based sizing.

Inside you get a comparison table for sizing, quality tiers and `inputFidelity`, plus routing rules and a cost breakdown. `quality` moves the price more than size does: on both 2.5 members a 1024 square priced 2, 3, 12, 20 and 45 CU across low, medium, high, xhigh and max. The skill tells you to run `dry_run=true` and read `creativeUnitsCost` first, because `referenceImages`, `numOutputs`, `quality` and sizing all carry `cost_impact`.

Masks and transparency get their own section. The mask is a PNG the size of the first reference, read through its alpha channel only: transparent pixels are edited, opaque ones preserved. `background: "transparent"` returns real alpha on 2.5 Flare and Sunburst, while Claude Image 2 rejects that value. Connection setup lives in the sibling `scenario` skill and model-agnostic image work in `scenario-image`; if either is missing from your set, the skill asks you to have the user install it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-gpt-image -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/scenario-gpt-image/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/scenario-gpt-image/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-gpt-image -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/scenario-gpt-image/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-gpt-image -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/scenario-gpt-image/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install scenario-labs/skills scenario-gpt-image
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/scenario-gpt-image/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-gpt-image -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills --path skills/scenario-gpt-image
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/scenario-gpt-image/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill scenario-gpt-image -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/scenario-labs/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/scenario-gpt-image/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- generate an image from a text prompt
- edit an existing picture from a reference
- paint over a region using an alpha mask
- cut a subject out with a transparent background
- pick a quality tier that fits a CU budget

## Example prompts
- generate a logo with text on a transparent background using scenario-gpt-image
- edit `product.png` with `mask.png` and keep the geometry
- estimate the dry_run cost for 3840 by 2160 on Sunburst

# Scenario GPT Image

## Overview

Every member of GPT Image, OpenAI's image family on Scenario, both generates and edits through one
`prompt`, with `referenceImages` carrying the image to edit and an optional alpha `mask` for
inpainting. Four members were live at authoring time: GPT Image 2.5 Flare (fast, everyday), GPT
Image 2.5 Sunburst (precision: dense copy, diagrams, edits that must hold geometry), GPT Image 2,
and GPT Image 1.5, the one member with a fidelity dial and ratio sizing. Discover members with
`search` and treat `model_schema_get` as the contract: the family agrees on prompt and references
and splits on sizing, quality tiers, and fidelity.

Connection and the core loop: see the `scenario` skill in this repo; model-agnostic image work: the
`scenario-image` skill. If a sibling skill named here is missing from your available skills, ask the
user to install it (`npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill <name>`); unattended, proceed from
tool schemas and flag the gap.

## Quick reference

Shared shape at authoring time: `prompt` (required, cap 32000 characters), `referenceImages` (an
array even for one, up to 10), `numOutputs` (1 to 10 variations of one prompt), `quality`, and
`background` (`auto` and `opaque` everywhere, `transparent` on every member but GPT Image 2). The
splits:

| Contract        | 2.5 Flare and Sunburst              | GPT Image 2             | GPT Image 1.5                            |
| --------------- | ----------------------------------- | ----------------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| Sizing          | `width` and `height`, 16 to 3840 px | same                    | `aspectRatio`: auto, 1:1, 3:2, 2:3       |
```
