## What it does

The skill maps out SAP HANA Developer CLI (hana-cli), a command-line tool for HANA database development and administration. Your agent learns the command surface: inspecting tables, views, procedures and functions, running SQL, managing HDI containers, handling SAP HANA Cloud instances, and working with BTP CLI integration. The description covers 91 commands and more than 17 output formats.

There is an MCP section too. The bundled config pins `hana-mcp-server@0.3.4`, and connection details come from environment variables such as `HANA_HOST`, `HANA_PORT`, `HANA_USER` and `HANA_PASSWORD`. That server gets access to a HANA tenant, so the author advises running the `sap-dependency-security` skill before you change the pin. hana-cli itself needs Node.js 20.19.0 or newer.

The skill points at neighbours: `sap-cap-capire` for CAP and HDI work, `sap-btp-cloud-platform` for cloud instances, `sap-abap-cds` for CDS syntax comparisons. No HANA database and no plans for one? Then there is nothing here for you.
