## What it does

The skill sets the rules for SAP Fiori work in CAP and standalone projects. Unless your request names the stack, the agent asks first whether you want a CAP app or a standalone Fiori project against an external OData service. The UI itself is generated through Fiori MCP tools rather than hand-written.

Application templates it can produce: `FE_LROP`, `FE_ALP`, `FE_OVP`, `FE_WORKLIST`, `FE_FEOP`, `FE_FPM` and `FF_SIMPLE`. Some are OData V4 only. Existing apps can gain ListReport, ObjectPage or CustomPage. CAP projects come with their own rules: the app lives in the `app` folder under the CAP root, primary keys are UUID, and foreign keys in CSV sample data must be UUID too.

For standalone projects the agent pulls OData service metadata through Fiori MCP, or Service Center MCP when it is available. The `metadata.xml` file under `webapp/localService` is read-only — entity and property changes belong in the backend. Refreshing metadata in an app that already exists is not a job for `download_odata_service_metadata`; that tool handles the initial download, and the `update service-metadata` section of the `sap-fiori-create-cli` skill covers refreshes. Local annotations stay limited to app-specific UI tweaks.

Before touching code, the agent checks whether Fiori MCP or a dedicated skill such as `sap-fiori-analytical-chart` already covers the task.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SAP/open-ux-tools --skill sap-fiori-app-development -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/sap-fiori-app-development/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/sap-fiori-app-development/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SAP/open-ux-tools --skill sap-fiori-app-development -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/sap-fiori-app-development/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SAP/open-ux-tools --skill sap-fiori-app-development -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/sap-fiori-app-development/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install SAP/open-ux-tools sap-fiori-app-development
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/sap-fiori-app-development/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SAP/open-ux-tools --skill sap-fiori-app-development -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/SAP/open-ux-tools --path plugins-coding-agents/fiori/skills/sap-fiori-app-development
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/sap-fiori-app-development/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SAP/open-ux-tools --skill sap-fiori-app-development -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/SAP/open-ux-tools/tree/HEAD/plugins-coding-agents/fiori/skills/sap-fiori-app-development/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- scaffold a List Report with a filterable table
- add an Object Page to an existing app
- connect a Fiori app to a CAP service
- download metadata from an external OData service
- refresh `metadata.xml` in a project that already exists

## Example prompts
- create a Fiori Elements app for CAP with a List Report on the Travel entity
- add an Object Page to the current app
- connect this standalone Fiori project to an external OData V4 service

# SAP Fiori App Development Guidelines (CAP & Standalone Projects)

## General Guidelines (Applicable to CAP and Standalone Fiori Projects)

1. **Always ask the user** whether they want to create a Fiori app for **CAP** (Cloud Application Programming) or a **standalone Fiori project** connected to an external OData service before proceeding with implementation, unless the technology stack is explicitly specified in the user's request.
2. Use the Fiori MCP tools to create the Fiori UI using SAP Fiori Elements.
3. After the Fiori MCP Server tools execute successfully, inform the user of completion. Do not verify or double-check - treat successful tool execution as confirmation.
4. The data model should be suitable for SAP Fiori elements: at minimum one entity type that serves as the main entity for the application. Navigation properties to related entities are optional but enable richer UI patterns.
5. Each property of an entity must have a proper datatype.
6. Before modifying the code directly - first check whether Fiori MCP server provides a suitable function or tool, or if a specialized skill exists (e.g.`sap-fiori-analytical-chart`).

### Available Application Templates (Both CAP and Standalone Projects)

The Fiori MCP can create the following application templates for both CAP and standalone project backends:

1. **FE_LROP** - List Report Object Page (most common, OData V2/V4)
2. **FE_ALP** - Analytical List Page (OData V2/V4)
3. **FE_OVP** - Overview Page (OData V2/V4)
4. **FE_WORKLIST** - Worklist (OData V2/V4)
5. **FE_FEOP** - Form Entry Object Page (OData V4 only)
6. **FE_FPM** - Flexible Programming Model / Custom Page (OData V4 only)
7. **FF_SIMPLE** - Basic SAPUI5 Freestyle template (can work without a data source)
```
