## What it does

This skill designs outbound cadence structures before sending begins. The agent steps through an interview covering business segments, available channels, database sizes, and rep capacity. It orders channels by default return per touch: in-thread bumps, blank connection requests, extra email angles, calls with voicemail, social messages, and video touches.

For B2B workflows, the model plans multi-threading for 2-3 contacts per account with staggered timing and company-wide pauses on reply. SMS channels require express opt-in consent, while calling lists require verification against do-not-call registries.

The skill deliberately stops at cadence architecture and capacity math. It refuses to write email copy, test subject lines, or audit inbox deliverability, so those tasks require separate tooling.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mbfinotti/sales-skills --skill sales-outbound-sequence -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/sales-outbound-sequence/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/sales-outbound-sequence/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mbfinotti/sales-skills --skill sales-outbound-sequence -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/sales-outbound-sequence/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mbfinotti/sales-skills --skill sales-outbound-sequence -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/sales-outbound-sequence/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install mbfinotti/sales-skills sales-outbound-sequence
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/sales-outbound-sequence/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mbfinotti/sales-skills --skill sales-outbound-sequence -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/mbfinotti/sales-skills --path skills/sales-outbound-sequence
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/sales-outbound-sequence/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mbfinotti/sales-skills --skill sales-outbound-sequence -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- build a touch-by-touch schedule across outreach channels
- calculate daily manual outreach capacity per sales rep
- define exit criteria and lead recycling windows
- structure multi-threading across 2-3 contacts per account

## Example prompts
- Build a 14-day B2B outbound cadence for mid-market accounts using email and phone
- Calculate daily rep capacity and touch limits for a dormant account win-back campaign
- Design an inbound lead follow-up sequence with automated exit rules on reply

# Outbound Sequence

Design the skeleton of an outbound cadence - the touch-by-touch plan of channels, days, spacing, exits, and recycling - sized to the user's segment, list, and rep capacity, with metric thresholds committed before launch.

Two facts frame everything here:

- **Cadence length is contested.** Sales-training practitioners and sales-engagement vendors teach roughly 10-15 touches over 14-30 days. Email-quality vendors and outbound agencies cap it at 3-5 emails, fewer when multi-channel, and call long sequences a symptom of low relevance. Neither is law: this skill applies a decision rule instead of picking a side, see [references/cadence-patterns.md](references/cadence-patterns.md).
- **Most figures are vendor-published.** Nearly every statistic in the references comes from companies selling outreach tooling - trust the direction, never the magnitude, and label it as vendor-published when quoting it to the user. The only hard numbers are mailbox-provider policies (spam-complaint ceilings), flagged as platform policy where they appear.

Scope: the cadence plan is the whole deliverable. Never write message copy in depth, route it to the sibling skill for that copy type:

- Subject lines: `mbfinotti/sales-skills@cold-email-subject-line-tester`
- Call openers: `mbfinotti/sales-skills@cold-call-opener`
- Personalization-angle selection: `mbfinotti/sales-skills@sales-outreach-personalization`
- Rebuttals: `mbfinotti/sales-skills@sales-objection-handling`
- Post-meeting follow-up: `mbfinotti/sales-skills@sales-meeting-recap`

Never audit deliverability, domains, or authentication - plan within the sending constraints, then hand the audit to `mbfinotti/sales-skills@cold-email-deliverability`.

## Interview

- Ask one question per message.
- Offer multiple-choice options.
- Skip anything context already answers.
