## What it does

Saleor Configurator is a CLI that describes a store's configuration in YAML and applies it declaratively. This skill hands the agent the rules behind that schema: the top-level keys, what an entity block looks like, which commands and flags the CLI takes, how credentials are set and how to run non-interactively.

Five rule files ship inside, ranked by priority. `config-schema` and `identity-strategies` are marked CRITICAL — the first covers the YAML structure, the second explains where a `slug` is required, where `name` works, and which entities are singletons. Then come `cli-commands`, `deploy-pipeline` with its stage order and failure handling, and `diff-behavior`, which describes what makes diff create, update or delete something.

Everything is also compiled into a single `AGENTS.md`. Reach for the skill when local config drifts from remote state, or when you're wiring up CI/CD and moving configuration between environments. Without it, the agent usually slips on identifiers first — worth reading `identity-strategies` before your first deploy.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saleor/agent-skills --skill saleor-configurator -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/saleor-configurator/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/saleor-configurator/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saleor/agent-skills --skill saleor-configurator -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/saleor-configurator/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saleor/agent-skills --skill saleor-configurator -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/saleor-configurator/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install saleor/agent-skills saleor-configurator
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/saleor-configurator/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saleor/agent-skills --skill saleor-configurator -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/saleor/agent-skills --path skills/saleor-configurator
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/saleor-configurator/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saleor/agent-skills --skill saleor-configurator -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- write a `config.yml` for a Saleor store without schema mistakes
- decide between `slug` and `name` for a given entity
- get the `deploy` stage order and failure handling right
- find out why `diff` reports extra creates or deletes
- set up a non-interactive deploy for CI/CD

## Example prompts
- Write a `config.yml` covering our Saleor channels and warehouses
- Why does `diff` want to delete a product that exists on the remote store?
- Build a deploy pipeline that moves store config from staging to production

# Saleor Configurator

Guide for using Saleor Configurator — a "commerce as code" CLI that lets you define
your entire Saleor store configuration in YAML and deploy it declaratively.

## When to Apply

- Writing or editing `config.yml` for a Saleor store
- Running `deploy`, `introspect`, or `diff` commands
- Understanding which identifier to use (`slug` vs `name`) for each entity
- Debugging mismatches between local config and remote state
- Setting up CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
- Migrating store configuration between environments

## Rule Categories by Priority

| Priority | Category           | Impact   | Prefix       |
| -------- | ------------------ | -------- | ------------ |
| 1        | Config Schema      | CRITICAL | `config-`    |
| 2        | Entity Identity    | CRITICAL | `identity-`  |
| 3        | CLI Workflow       | HIGH     | `cli-`       |
| 4        | Deployment         | HIGH     | `deploy-`    |
| 5        | Diff & Sync        | MEDIUM   | `diff-`      |

## Quick Reference

### 1. Config Schema (CRITICAL)

- `config-schema` — YAML structure, all top-level keys, entity examples

### 2. Entity Identity (CRITICAL)

- `identity-strategies` — Slug-based vs name-based vs singleton; which entity uses which

### 3. CLI Workflow (HIGH)

- `cli-commands` — All commands, flags, env vars, credential setup, non-interactive mode

### 4. Deployment (HIGH)

- `deploy-pipeline` — Stage order, dependency graph, selective deployment, failure handling

### 5. Diff & Sync (MEDIUM)

- `diff-behavior` — How diff detects changes, what triggers create/update/delete

## How to Use

Read individual rule files for detailed explanations and examples:

```
rules/config-schema.md
rules/identity-strategies.md
rules/cli-commands.md
rules/deploy-pipeline.md
rules/diff-behavior.md
```
